After years of friendship, I was kicked out of Emily's wedding-yet she still expected my band to perform for free. When I refused, everything took a shocking turn, leaving me wondering how it all went so wrong.

Booked!? The fight was about the band. The wedding is the groom's too. He hates the band. Besides, the band was only going to do one set. It was a gift, and it was going to be unappreciated. Bridey was just unwilling to extend herself or her planner to get someone else. And with the friendship tanked, no gift was necessary.

Wasnt it a gift?! Only guests give gifts.
But yes, it sounds as if you did it to be petty. You should have talked to her and clearly said that you consider the cancelation of your invite as the end of your friendship. 😅

If OP is not longer invited. How can her band perform. That's a paradox.
It would seem that there are consequences to the brides future husband being a douche.
    No invite. No gift.
