This is my favorite Pre-Written module, and it’s not because it’s a “horror” game, it’s because it can be focused on like 30 different things at the same time, and leave it up to the characters. Not only does it have awesome quests and dungeons, not only does it have excellent bosses, not only is it open-world and free to travel around, not only is it extremely detailed in nearly every way, but it can be adapted to fit the characters in nearly every way. This group makes all of its best qualities stand out, and it has inspired me to become a better DM and a better storyteller, focusing on all of the best things that worked for you, and avoiding the things that didn’t. Curse of Srahd remains the most important and well-written module, but I personally believe that Icewind Dale is the best, layered to fit almost all play styles, and relentlessly fun. Thanks for making this game even more fun than it already is.
Is it just me, or is Immolation a pretty self-rightous character? I don't feel like the wizard lady deserved so much mistrust from her after helping kill the dragon, and the speaker of brynn shander is just trying her best.
I mean I can see why and at first I felt the same but the Ten-Towns is a shit place and I can also see Immolation’s side. Sure Velen helped with the construct dragon but then from there she’s just making the party do all of her dirty work which has gotten them almost killed on multiple occasions and she hasn’t helped at all, just sitting at their house just researching, Immolation is just asking to be seen as equals rather than as they are her minions. Also one the party members did die and lose their eyesight who Immolation has history with, also didn’t help that Velen also called the party expendable and said that she’s is going to be the main reason they stop the everlasting Rime and she could just get other people to do it. I also side with Immolation that the speaker, even tho the speaker is under a lot of pressure is only trying to keep herself in power and sure she has alot of things on her plate but she never has done anything to stop the ten towns from burning people alive which has been going on long before the party started adventuring. Immolation doesn’t want to just stand by and let innocent people continue to suffer at the hands of inaction and is being blunt and telling it how it is which I respect
Immolation only seem to get so mad when she can see good in the person she it yelling at if the wizard really wasn't trusted at all she wouldn't have said anything she whould have just killed her in two seconds
She does start to get on people’s nerves. The rest of the party has had to hush her many times. I’m kinda waiting for one Npc to say “screw this” and just attack
