John, something is wrong with the clutch not shifting to the transfer position, the mech is not going to the play position for the cradle to shift sides. The clutch lifting adjustment may be a little off and it's not fully engaging the pin. I can hear the tick tick tick. I also notice a delay at the left end as the carriage reverses. Go through and recheck the clutch adjustments and make sure you don't have something adjusted at to close a tolerance and causing one of the levers to bind. The mech has to enter the play position. I noticed that the mech did not stop when you made the selection several times. I did see it trip and stop in a previous video when you first got the different TES. I'd say the tormat unit is not adjusted right or make sure the little plug is plugged in the pulse amplifier. The mech should have stopped and did the ticking thing when you made the selection.
Keep up the good work John. I enjoy your videos. Back in 1980's I had 100 jukeboxes, mostly Seeburg. I always had trouble with the Tormat not getting the pulse. Sounds like this could be your problem. Anyway good luck. From one ham to another 73, K3CNH
Who knows John, you may be right. This series may just go to 100 videos. Keep at it. I'm in it to watch this project to the very end. I want so bad to see this machine work.
Look online for the following-Seeburg scans twice & stops, battery test with Seeburg Tormat. Apparently by the sound of the clutch making the clicking sound when you trip the mech into play, something is binding & not allowing the mech to go into play transfer cycle.
Matthew, Right now it's a mechanical problem. Today I plan to spend some get-down-and-dirty time with it. Maybe I'll get lucky and stumble across the answer. Regards, John
the cradle will only move when the mech is properly entering the play mode...for some reason its not, which points to a clutch problem, which may also account for that clicking noise....something has happened to it while scanning, looking back at video 68 it was running nice..but looks like its binding now or reversing switch problem....
John, I saw a Seeburg video which showed the user turning the spindle by hand. In one scene he turned it backwards and that mechanism moved.... I think there must be a part of the clutch that disengages that platform when the spindle reverses... worth a shot I suppose.. You'll get it. - Ron
Well at least it wasn't "B-17". Don't play B-17 :). The tone arm switch must be for playing the front side of the record. I do not know much about those Seeburg selectomatics but I assume that when the mechanism moves from right to left the tone arm is in the back side play position and when it moves from left to to right the arm slides over to play the front side of the record.
Hi John, it look's like the clutch doesn't get into play mode. Perhaps by adjusting a other part this adjustment got to tight? Don't know what exact happend but that's the issue you have right now. But why it does not trip on the selection you made, I have no clue. Hope Harry has the anwer
I've done that, Stephen, but no luck. It seems that no book ever provides a clear cut and easy answer to any problems I encounter. But such is the hobby. Trust me, perseverance shall win the day. Regards, John
Maybe Brendan's point is copper tarnishes faster than the stock? Hence possible poor connection down the line.....LOL....I dunno, it's a 6 of this or half doz. of that I guess....
Sam, Brendan feels I could use much higher quality components than what's probably inside those Copper Caps. Weber doesn't provide any information on what components they put in them. Must be state secret. Regards, John
John, I am trying to add your channel to my subscription list but when I subscribe your channel on You Tube the system saves your channel as some guy working on a T-Bird car. Am I doing something wrong. Thanks, John H
John, That guy working on the T-Bird is me. 😎 I made about 1000 videos on a number of different things. Here's the playlists. studio.ruclips.net/channel/UC738Lb57Y7mg2m6DV97ukbAplaylists Regards, John

I've bought those copper caps and used them and like them and had no problem with them, but I thought they are just diodes and resisters covered in a copper cap for looks, no?

John, it's operator error...ha
Buzz,
Truer than you might think, my friend. BTW...tomorrow I hope to get to your request. Sorry for the delay.

Ron,
I've spun it every which way but loose, but no cigar yet. Today I'm getting out the acetylene torch and show it who's in charge.

Gary,
That's exactly how it's supposed to operate, but refuses to do so. Maybe I just need to buy a bigger hammer.
Regards,
John
It's probably just another adjustment that's needed.
Hope you can figure it out !! Have a great weekend
Me, too, Virginia. But I was still hoping you could give me the answer.

John

Roy,
Harry better have the answers, He's the resident expert here. If it doesn't get fixed I'll tell the whole world it's his fault. LOL

I would run through the tormat troubleshooting test procedures in that PDF file that I linked to a previous video
