What an exceptional demo video. I salute you and your team and will be purchasing one of these pedals. They are a head above all other delay pedals on the market in my humble opinion.
LOVE this Delay and I have owned Many. Simple to use with an Awesome Sound. Sure there's a lot of great delays out there no doubt. This one ranks up there near the Top in my Humble opinion.
Cool delay. I like that you have so many simple, intuitive ready set go settings but also that it's so easy so set up your own custom settings really quickly with a bit of experimentation. PS - nice SOX haha
Great demo! Just got my Empress Tape Delay today and both Tap and Bypass led lights on my pedal are yellow and it looks like your pedal has a red Bypass led? What power adapter are you using for this pedal? I have a Boss 9V power adapter. Also the "Vintage" and "Old" mode is not as noticeable on mine. Maybe I using the wrong adapter? Please let me know. Thanks :)
PS. when I turn the delay time while there is audio to emulate moving the tape it does not work like yours. I hope there is not a defect in my pedal. Maybe need to return for a exchange?
Nice, thoughtful design....but maybe a tad too clean, even in 'old' mode (if you're old enough to have a lot of experience with an Echoplex, Space Echo, etc.). Outweighed by features, though! BTW, nice socks! :-)
I'm a devotee of Danny Gatton, the Telemaster. His only effects were an EQ and an old Echoplex tape delay. Listening to this unit, the El Capistan, and the Wampler Tape Echo, I think this one narrowly wins it. The Wamper is solid as well (very close), while the El Cap just doesn't sound natural or musical to my ears. Vintage and Old mode on this really sound a lot like Danny's playing on 88 Elmira St.
Danny also used a Chandler SDE digital echo. Apparently, it used Panasonic chips that were only available for a little while - and the unit was discontinued. They are really amazing units. I agree - I think this Empress Pedal sounds really close to that DG sound.
Hi, a stupid question, what would this thing do on vocals? I am in the search of an old music hall sound in combination with a "radio voice" microphone, meaning that the frequency spectrum does not have to be to wide,
I'd love any help with this problem I have with my pedal. I got an empress tape delay and it sounds really great, but for some reason, when engaged, it doesn't play the original signal/hit. example, if i have it on tap tempo (with whatever tempo) and ratio 1:1, and i play one note, it will ignore the hit I play and only play the repeats. This is so hard to play with, it messes with my mind please help me if you can!
+SmittyWarben YagerMangensen Hey there. There are a few reasons why you might be experiencing this issue. If you could please send a video of the problem to support@empresseffects.com we would be happy to help you out!
Hi ! Does the pedal sound like this straight out of the box or does it require removing of the back plate and tweaking of the internal switch to change the input headroom settings to even give any kind of delay effects? Because i recently received my pedal and it has no effects whatsoever. Almost negligible.
If it was set to infinity, that means the feedback is at 100% and it will go on indefinitely (depending on other factors of the circuit). Past infinity means the feedback is set past 100% and will begin to oscillate, getting louder and louder.
A high-quality DELAY AND REVERB pedal is lacking on the market, which effects can be used individually as a common pedal AND also together for complete ambience effects. we do not need countless modes but a few with excellent quality, example Delay: Tape, Analog, Digital. Reverb (Plate, Room, Shimmer) is only the Essential ... when will you launch a pedal like that?
Dude get the walrus fathom or slo and rubberneck delay. I have the minim, meris polymoon stereo delay, the avalanche run reverb delay, the rever reverb delay and NONE sound as good as that fathom going into to DOD rubberneck The DOD is the best analog and most versatile pedal I’ve ever used It can make any sound and the added bonus of an external effects loop that you’ll hear on reapeats and a expression pedal make it the best pedal I’ve ever bought at that price Iota mono but out of two amps an analog delay with the fathoms lofi reverb warble is just the best thing ever For more ambience either buy the avalanche run or get the slo and the Rubbneck I can’t stress how awesome the rubberneck is Watch some of the 20 reviews Plus you can get em fjr like 180 mint but used
vibroluxor - That very thing has made its way into several well-known songs, it's definitely something people who've been using delays like these for years would be curious about, so I'm glad it's in the video. The sock, though...
Those socks allow for the the most voodoo of tones! Thanks for the nice words!
What is Daniel Tosh doing in this video?
is it analogue or digital, or both?
What an exceptional demo video. I salute you and your team and will be purchasing one of these pedals. They are a head above all other delay pedals on the market in my humble opinion.
Max Downs Agreed. Incredible tone.
one of my favorite pedal companies. my superdelay is my favorite pedal i own. i like what youve done here.
Great overview, Tony Romo!

Agreed.
+1 on that.
The commanding sock made me uncomfortable...
i just loled so hard at this!!

Nice socks. With the vented tops they looks quite comfy. Are they included with the pedal??

Sounds very good. It's a good problem to have when there are this many great sounding delays on the market. :)
This one one of my favorite pedals. It shan't leave my board :)
Great demo of a wery good sounding machine.
I thought the pedal was being attacked by a sock puppet at first. Turned out to be just an ordinary foot in a sock. I like my idea better.
Just got mine in the mail. So stoked to plug her in.
i always enjoy your videos, thank you for making them

I have a hot rod deluxe. How are you eliminating the tube rattle? Did you mod it at all?
Empress Effects are the best 🤘
Most Awesome!!!🎸Thank You for Your Amazing Engineering!! Really Inspires Creativity!!
Thanks for watching them!
You guys make such great stuff. Keep it up!
I'd love any help with this problem I have with my pedal.

i just returned it to the seller. was used. thanks for the response!
does it feature reverse delay?
"it goes from 1 all the way up to past infinity"
how dang cool is that?!?
"To infinity, and beyond!"
Sounds good guys! I won't be parting with my Timeline any time soon, but I'm sure this is going to be awesome for a lot of people
NEEEEEED THAT FIRST CHORD HOLY WOW
Thanx for your vid & going through some of the features.
Cheers

yep!
So there are no controls for either the filters or the modulation. Just on, off, little, a lot. Very chinese for Canadian.
The pedal is great and has 3 presets. I wish it had more it would be perfect for stage . Still good.
IMHO, there's something to be said for simplicity and letting the sound man do that stuff.
This thing is so awesome.
Thanks!
"The delay knob goes past infinity"....was that intended to be a Spinal Tapp moment?
If it was set to infinity, that means the feedback is at 100% and it will go on indefinitely (depending on other factors of the circuit). Past infinity means the feedback is set past 100% and will begin to oscillate, getting louder and louder.
People aren't happy unless you use big red clown shoes. ;)
🤘👍🏿
"past" infinity? :)

yes
300 dollar pedal but has 10 dollar green screen
digital.
I gotta turn a delay demo off the minute they start turning the time knob while its playing. they all do that.
It's important to show how it behaves when doing so.

Put your shoes on.

Put your damn shoes on.
Nah, dog, nah... why you gotta be all h8'in all up on them sockses?
