If you want fresh coffee, you should make it fresh , if it is not hot, we will not put it on the gas directly ,so that the freshness should not go, we will boil water In a sauce pan and keep the steel tumbler in it and make it hot.

Wow . Amazing . I never had filtered coffee until I came to canada . Tried it once and now addicted to it . Tastes 100 times better than any coffee I have tried in the past . Thanks for the video
I got to try this! This is something my audience will drool over. I haven't even heard of this style.
Me either
Please try this, you'll enjoy like anything.
That's kumbakonam filter coffee. Our place is well known for this.
Best video and explanation ever! ♥️ I'm a Filipino living here in Kerala and I am so much missing coffee since my Husband's family are Chai people through and through. I really want to try this coffee press method. Thank you!
Wow I'm from kerala
Awesome, I’ve been making filter coffee since a while now, but I leave the press inside filter only. That way it takes more time to percolate and the coffee oil is also seen floating on the surface.
yeah the press is supposed to be left inside is what I thought so too. Then I got confused seeing this video.
@@eleventhhourproductions1521 yeah, you are right. I have seen it in south india too. They let the press inside too.
Presser goes in.
Can you please help - How much decoction is to be added to make 1 cup of filter coffee?
@Shweta Bagra I generally store it in a glass jar with a tight lid(like our Jam or Pesto bottles). And finish it in a day or two. But for sure, the taste changes a bit next day onwards.
This filter coffee is far far better then starbucks coffee ... love it ☺️☺️🙏🙏💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Wow ! This was amazing. You speak extremely well.
Sir thankyou so much , i tried it and the coffee was made incredible, just like south indian coffee houses 🙏
For me personally Narasu's filter coffee and Kumbakonam Degree coffee are the best.
I don't even drink coffee but when I went to Chennai, I ended up having cups and cups of filter coffee because it's unbelievably awesome.
So kind of you to say to hold the decoction utensil from below 😄
Without coffee my day is unsuccess, just I like it without reason, thank you for sharing your opinion without locha man 👏👏👏
In my household everyday we do this... I especially wake up to have coffee.... 6 30 am decotion prepared and then newspaper..... Timepass till 7 30am..... And in this lockdown it has become addiction now... I only wake up for the fresh coffee 😍😍😋💕
This tastes really really good
Just awesome
First time i felt like i am loving coffee
Thank you
Madras Filter Coffee is one of my favorites .. and Masala Dosa 😋😋
Being from Karnataka and tasting this amazing coffee from local hotels, I'd always wondered how the coffee tastes so perfect, well now I have the answer to it! Can't wait to make this amazing coffee 😍😍
Blore has the best filter coffee like this. But I like Mysore or Coorg side when they make filter coffee. 80-20 is my favourite too.
The presentation and narration is just awesome... WOW...
No need to make the decoction previous night, with in ten minutes you can prepare freshly in the morning. I am also a South Indian , of course we prepare coffee everyday morning and evening, some time we will prepare more than two times, if we make it every day ,freshly. If you want fresh coffee, you should make it fresh , if it is not hot, we will not put it on the gas directly ,so that the freshness should not go, we will boil water In a sauce pan and keep the steel tumbler in it and make it hot.
Thank you for the correct reply y they give misleading information i don't understand that
Yes I agree... But the decoction thickens and better taste... trust me... I’m a South Indian and I have tried both ways..
Yes even in my house we do the same, this recipe was so elaborate to make a simple beverage
I am coffee obsessed 🤩
I am South African of South Indian descent 😊4 generation. I had no idea of this method. Looks so good ❤
The contraptions are a bit intimidating and interesting.
The next time I visit India I will definitely try it!!
I absolutely agree don’t understand what the big deal is about Starbucks!
Couldn’t careless about their coffee
😮
Sir your presentation was very clean and interesting! I’m about to make filter coffee for the first time😅
I have never been a coffee person. But I must say filter coffee is the one best thing that South India has 😋😋😋
Explain about "chikori" - taste, presence, effects and aroma.
I still remember my short time in India. Local tea stall on the side of the road, made a really good chai and kapi. Now I shall endeavor to recreate that at home.
Thank you for sharing.
An important ingredient to add while making decoction - a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar.
It will caramelize the process and salt is a wonderful taste that with each sip you need to feel. Try this along to feel magic 😃🙏. Stay safe. Stay healthy !!
Wwaah!..kya Coffee Kaappee hai!🤎💞💞♥️♥️💕✍️🇮🇳🕉️🌈🌎🙏
When I was abroad, I was Eager to come back to Bangalore, India, for I cannot be without Idli, Dosa and filter coffee of South India. They attract and pull me across the seas .
I am a malayali and working in Bahrain when I go out side always eat breakfast from a Tamil restaurant plain dosha ,chadni, sambar, vada , FILTER COFFEE ☕ it's heaven.......
Varun is just so awesome..he make everything so simple
Made me remember my grandma.. and i ordered all of these things :)..

Nothing better than traditional filter coffee !!
It's very true! there are so many fancy coffee houses but my heart comes back to traditional filter coffee.
Explained with amazing clarity and brevity. 😎
The way u make coffee makes me to convert into the coffee world.
I have gained expertise in making filter coffee now as I make it every evening for the family.
Itni der me toh me morphology of flowering plants learn kar lu 😂
Wahi padh raha hu abhi haha XD
Nhi hoga bhai morpho aur anatomy dono maha gnde topic h nhi honge

Just wait when you start reading Brachiocephalic Trunk and its branches in 1st Yr Anatomy... Assuming you were preparing for NEET
😂😂😂
I am a coffee lover and appreciate the way u made it and presented it..
Try anywhere in South India, but the best filter coffee with original taste is available only in Bangalore.
Nothing like getting a South Indian breakfast with dosa, idli vada sambhar and finishing up with a filter kapi. It's heaven even for those who are accustomed to sausage, cold cuts of meat and weak American coffee. My mouth is watering. My preference is 80:20::coffee:chicory.
I’m learning about filter coffee for the very first time. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. It looks so delicious and the process seems very enjoyable. I’m attempting it right now and it smells delightful as I wait...
IT IS SOOOO DELICIOUS!! Now I must look to purchase the utensils used in this video.
Exactly
I have this apparatus in our home for a while. Never knew how to use properly. Now will try. Thank you.
Wow!! So beautifully explained... Would make anyone fall in love with filter coffee
Starbucks is only about ambience.. All frills no substance.. With such simple mundane coffee recipes like the humble south Indian filter coffee that tastes yummy and is so comforting it's always some substance regardless of any frills..
India's highest coffee producer state karnataka.
I live in Canada I truly loves coffee.
I would love to have this coffee to drink.
You are right. I bought my first freshly ground coffee powder from Karnataka.
South Indian Filter Coffee is Tasty. I Like very much Thanks for Clear Explanation. Taj 🇲🇾
Thanks for BABA BUDAN story. It was interesting to know that he took just 7 green coffee seeds and hid them in his beard to avoid having them confiscated on his way back.
@rajshri Foods - this anchor is too good man! He gave the demo like a top class chef in a hotel management school!
Nothing is as good as a fresh filter coffee to start your day!
Very well explained ,with great attention to ‘’what’’ and ‘’why’’ it is done… thank you so much
Looking at this I think the difference between a European cafe latte and a South Indian filter coffee is the extended brewing time, added flavour of chicory and the different flavour created by boiling of milk (in Latte/ Cappuccino milk is steamed only until it reaches 60-65C)
I am a south Indian and we use a mix of Arabica peaberry and plantation AA (or better) and NO chicory.
@@bmniac south indian here and yes we do mostly. Usually in a 60% coffee and 30% chicory ratio. Plantation AA and arabica peaberry (these are coffee beans varieties) definitely adds to that unique flavour.
Filter coffee is the best! Thank you
