I have a 2017 Gibson HP415W with a cutaway and a walnut back and sides. I love it. It emits a unique sound that is neither comparable to rosewood or mahogany.

The Songwriter with the mustache bridge is one of my favorite looks on an acoustic guitar. It sounds great too. I thought that they normally came with a Fishman Prefix Plus preamp.

Paul: Gibson Boys AND Girls down the road. Decades ago (1994 ish) this was a Gibson Gospel. I read the shape is a shallower Hummingbird. The one I had was Dad's last guitar and he played till 98.35 years.

As a lefty it is hard to find good acoustics. I have a Gibson LP CS BB but a Dean acoustic, been looking to upgrade my acoustic to this Gibson SW acoustic. Hefty pricetag, but I love the sound of this. It's boomy, mid-y, rich sounding, bright and warm, you can hear everything crystal clear. Looking for an acoustic to keep for life so I don't feel guilty about paying a little extra now and like my Les Paul I see it as an investment too. Early 2022 I should have about 1/3 of the price saved up. Hopefully stores will have it in stock come summer, lol.

I just bought a Gibson songwriter today. I understand that the Gibson Songwriter has lacquer and not a polyurethane finish. I have read where people with this lacquer finish have tried to protect their Gibson guitar from scratches and dings with a peel-and-stick rubber pad, but a chemical reaction occurs and the pad ruins the guitar's lacquer finish. These pads work great, but only on polyurethane finishes leaving no damage. QUESTION: Does anyone know of a pad company that will not hurt the finish on a lacquer guitar?

Finally someone agrees with me...I.e., plastic knobs and/or plastic control panel inserts do not belong on a beautiful acoustic guitar! Hear that Taylor?

You would think for the price you would put the lr baggs anthem in it. The VTC is too clack sounding. I have the VTC in my j-45 and it sux. I have the anthem in my Martin d-35 and it is great. I will be replacing the VTC asap.

Is it my imagination or does the lower bout seem huge....

In my opinion the cutaway is more rounded and more 'fat' than it usually is...It fits this guitar's aesthetics, and it seems more balanced and nicer this way in terms of looks...I think Music Villa have been successful with choices they made, and I like the way this guitar sounds too. Congrats !

Lowers the same, as he said the edges are less squared off giving it a narrow appearance but that helps with the balanced tone. Usually Gibson dreads are just huge woofy sound but song writers are awesome!

I find the Songwriters are a little too bassy, not very balanced, can't hear the highs so much, this one sounds a bit different
