Yes Richard Smallwood wrote it and Whitney Houston sang this song and it’s beautiful, but the keyboard performance/arrangement is by Mervyn Warren. He did all the music for that movie. He also made a cameo appearance in the movie, playing the piano at the bar. He has also done other significant musical contributions including the music for Sister Act II, an original member and composer/arranger for take six, Soulfull Messiah (And African-American musical interpretation of Handel’s Messiah) and many other musical works…

First off, please tell your wife I said hey girl and thanks! :) Then thanks so much to you as well. I honestly don't consider myself super advanced, I'm trying to grow like the rest of us. I'd recommend working on drop 2s and new passing chords in your progressions. I also try to listen to a lot of musicians and borrow ideas and concepts and then merge them with my own ideas. Lastly, you are able to slow down RUclips videos and watch people's hands or use midis as you continue to develop your ears. Happy Holidays to yall!
