    As someone who tests a lot of preproduction hardware at work, I thought that was a nice explanation of the DVT process. Also, having assembled an Input Club Ergodox in the past, your price points were not particularly surprising. I am excited to learn more about the expansion modules. I would love having a thumbstick on the left half. I might be able to retire my Azeron if that happened.

    Though it is expensive, I wouldn't mind paying 300-500 dollars for a good keyboard that will save me of my wrist pain. I do expect amazing durability and a good guarantee though in case something goes wrong. If it can last 5+ years its money well spent in my eyes.

      We have a 2 year warranty and our keyboards are very easy to repair if something goes wrong after that. We offer the spare parts to fix them. The first Raise keyboards from 2019 are still up and running 😉

    I had carpal tunnel last year. Preventing further pain was worth every penny. You can strip away all the pretty lights amd wireless and the angle tenting will still be the most important reason to buy this.

    Yeah I was a bit surprised by the price of the keyboards as well. I then did an experiment and looked into making my own as there's a lot of DIY options. After adding up all of the different components needed to make something similar (without any specific software mind you), the price came out comparable.... maybe save between $50 - $100 on the configurations I was looking into. So I got the Defy and have been loving it as I get more used to it.
    For your reference though, a competitor that got me looking into these kinds of keyboards in the first place was the Naya. It's specifically designed for content creators and has hot-swappable modules purposefully designed for it (like a track ball, touch pad, rotary dial, and 3D navigation thingy). The base price is $500 for just the keyboard, and the modules are either $80 or $160 each depending on what you pick. So if you wanted all 4 modules the total price is $1000ish, where as if you wanted 2 modules (one from each price bracket) then it's in the $700s. Their extra keys layout is interesting as it's 2 columns of 5 on the outside of each half, plus 3 smart buttons per thumb. Their tenting solution is also really interesting, but they were also trying to make the keyboard as portable friendly as possible so they can get away with it.

    Plastic rods on the feet is disappointing. I’ve had so many plastic feet break over the years. Why didn’t you guys just use all aluminum or metal? It’s hardly a cost increase.

    • @DygmaLab
      @DygmaLab  5 месяцев назад

      It's not a matter of cost, but of tolerances. The plastic pieces make the tenting more stable at all angles, as we explain in this other video: ruclips.net/video/kYPymsWNutk/видео.html

      Our keyboards can be disassembled with a switch puller and a screwdriver. We only use glue to secure the magnets for the palm pads. And a special double side tape for the battery so it doesn't move during assembly. Once assembled, it's kept in place by other components.

      @DygmaLab the keyboard looks gorgeous but i think not being able to add aftermarket upgrades is a design flaw. At the very least I can't see a reason why tenting couldn't be. Or wireless. Rgb, fair enough. I see you have a campaign for beta testers. Good idea but I don't think at this stage you can fix a design flaw. I'm just one person, and again I think the keyboard is a winner bar said flaws. Good look with it, sadly price wise it's not for me unless I could buy in stages.
