  • I sew and hem three panels of canvas to make a backdrop that I paint a neutral color.
    I decided that this would be a good solution for a backdrop that can be stored out of the way when not needed and thereby maintaining my open floor plan that is so handy in a constantly changing work area.

    Great job. I got some double-sided from Sailrite company. It made managing the seams so much easier. My project was not near as big as yours.

    Love except for, I don't understand what you did the pull system first. Seems like a pain to work around. Is there a reason you do that first??

      This project occurred over time; I decided to do the paint job after I already had the backdrop up for a while and used it to make several videos. For example you can see it all natural in this video. ruclips.net/video/9nLpvw2M40A/видео.html

      It looks better for it as the painted strings are invisible. Natural strings would stand out like a sore thumb. Very inspiring, great job!

      You know, I never worried about it one way or the other. For my purposes it works great just how it turned out. It is in a lot of my videos and photos now so I guess you can look and see if would fit your style or not, but for me it has been great.

      @@AlexanderDyer thanks for the videos You are a great craftsman . Just a question .Why didn't you use primer? Would you recommend using it ,because I think it helps with possibly cracking ...?

    • @AlexanderDyer
      @AlexanderDyer  5 лет назад +1

      @@Cezram0n3 I am no paint expert but it is my understanding that primer helps with adhesion and latex paint has no difficulty in adhering to cotton canvas. Factor in extra cost and more steps and time and I didn't feel like it was needed but you could prime and it would be good.

      @@AlexanderDyer thanks again .I have a variety of canvasses I'll try different methods and will paint one of my own .BTW l love that tote you made of the old canvas tarp👌 .Are those available? (For sale) ...
