There are a few other bosses that reference other video game franchises. The Spirit of Heroism is very blatantly the Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls 3, Wunderschoenenberg is just Artoria from FATE, and Grom looks like he was inspired by Astaroth from Soul Calibur and the Gorons from Zelda.

I finished this game yesterday and i need to know if anyone knows how to get this achievement (Not for the achivement per se but for the Lore), also probably there will be a spoiler that are not showed in this video, so you are warned adventurer (? Martyr : Defeat the Reservoir of Pain. (Secret Achievement) Anyone knows how to do this? Where i can find him? Because i had hit him, a lot and in diferent places and nothing seems to do it EDIT: After some research i found out that to fight the Reservoir you need to unlock this ending, and to do this you need to get the maiden crone's gourd that you can get if in Warlocks Wild you get to that part full of green fog and follow the blue dots until reaching a hut, go close to the door and speak to the witch (or whoever is there) until she gives you the gourd, you need to do this before fighting the Wunderschoenenberg, otherwise you cant get the dialogue. Once you get this you need to give it to "The Innocent NPC" which is the one in Oreshaft Village, the one that's alone in a kinda demolished house and speak like a child (You can get this insight reading some items you get un Warlocks Wild). Giving the gourd instead of the box will piss off the Resevoir (He still will unburden your relics, but will be pissed), and after the fight with the Narrator you need to fight again the Spirit of Heroism. Once defeated you need to sacrifice the item he gives you in the Heart of Nostalgaia (That broken tube under the beacon in Heartflow Altar). And carry on to finish the game, once Mercucio is defeated you should be able to fight the Reservoir. I havent tried it yet but i read some people that did this, so i get this is the way, once i done it im gonna edit this comment again to confirm it or explain if there is anu extra step. P.D: If you give the box to the Innocent the reservoir becomes free of the pain and becomes posible to level up talking to him (Giving you an achievement) and enables the Martyrdom Penalties(Get 30 of this and get another achievement), which make the game a little more difficult for each relic that has been unburden

After you kill Mercucio you can kill the Spirit of Heroism 4 ever
so anyone else notice the final boss is actually Mario?

finished this game in 10 hours or so. quite fun not perfect but I had a great time.
