Respect. Even if it's lower than the original, it's really well played and more pleasure to listen than someone who's trying to play quickly just to "show off". Even with some few mistakes, it doesn't waste the video at all, it's just respectful
Thank you so much MistPiano, this means so much to me! :D This was exactly my thoughts on learning Animenz arrangements. I remember Animenz once warned not to fall in the trap of losing the beat/rhythm (which I think is just as important as playing the right notes). I've tried a few of his arrangements, and they are extremely hard to play up to the original speed for me, so I just play it at my own pace. My performance isn't that good, but I wanted to show appreciation to his quality arrangement/techniques (and more so for my own piano learning).
@@danielyeap5952 Yeah and I think loads of people are losing the beat when they play Animenz's arrangement (I especially think about his "Unravel" one). It is impressive when they play it, but it's not that beautiful to be honest. Yeah rythm is as important as the notes, even more important in my opinion because understanding the rythm is just understanding the piece itself. You have """just""" to play notes/chords/etc on it. I can just take myself for example because at the moment, I'm practicing this piece (HERE) and I'm at the beginning of the chorus, the notes aren't hard to play, but the ternary beat + mixing both hands, only on the 2 first measures needs really a lot of practice (for me) to clearly understand it... This piece is just a masterpiece though (the original and this arrangement), I totally felt in love with it. Now I'm practicing, I listen more your version than Animenz's, to see how it looks like slower (and clean). See you on a future video of yours 😉
It's been a while, but I think I played Db->Ab like 54321321321 or 54321321432. Just got to practice that decend very slow with wrist motion, because the middle finger over thumb lands on the F
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it! It looks really smooth when you do it :) But yeah, specifically landing on the F coming from the thumb made me a bit worried, but I'll start grinding with a slow tempo. I noticed that finding the correct fingering in animenz's transcriptions is quite key when building up tempo (I'll never be able to play in his tempo though 😂)
@@roberthorkovics-kovats6573 Thanks! I spent lots of focus time on just that scale down. And yes, fingering should feel as natural and be suitable for the phrasing in the passage. I was taught to focus my practice on feeling comfortable with the 213 or 214 finger over motion, as that is often the hardest to play evenly. But Animenz's pieces are so complex, I don't think I can keep up at the actual tempo, I'd make it sound horrible hahaha
@@danielyeap5952 Same 😁 But it's fine this way. You were able to convey the feel of the piece without cluttering it imo, so good job! I'll do my best to get to that point too :)
Sorry for the late reply, I'm not too sure as it was a second hand piano. But it's one of the standard black Yamaha upright pianos, and a bit out of tune >__< the sound though might be influenced by the video camera which is just my smart phone

Just started practising this piece :)
What's your fingering on the downward scale on bar 25?

What’s your piano? It sounds so much like a grand, at least from video

Hmm, how tall is it? Because it sounds incredible
