From the Saiyan Saga to Frieza, it was Goku's adventures in adulthood. From Cell to THAT part in the Buu Saga it was SUPPOSSED to be Gohan taking over his father's role. But like I said, in the Buu saga, Toriyama screwed him and Goku was the hero again.
over time DBZ paid attention to Gohan more and more but then after time fans got mad and Akira Toriyama (DBZ's creator) made Goku #1 again and vegeta #2
