DLs comedy used to be 30% roasting the audience, sometimes viciously. I remember when I was young (and bullied) I hated that about him, but now as an adult, I love DL. Especially the type of man he evolved into today.
I have seen DL Hughley on Def Comedy Jam doing stand up and when he did a guest appearance on The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air and these are the same exactly jokes I heard when he performed but, I don't care because I liked him when he was young, raw and uncensored by using bad foul language and I love it. in my opinion he sounded a bit like Sinbad and to me he's the dirty version of Sinbad doing stand up comedy cursing so much but, he speaks the truth about racism and it sucks that today when don't have anymore comedians like him that is honest and real humble by being aggressive, outspoken, but most of all controversial. I grow up watching this guy's show "The Hughley's" and I understand that he had to clean up his act doing television but, when it comes to DL doing stand up comedy he's a whole different person. I haven't laugh this hard since I last time saw him on "The Original Kings Of Comedy" with Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer and the very late Bernie Mac. this is one of the best stand UP's I have seen with DL Hughley and that looks like almost the same jacket that Martin Lawrence wore on his show "Martin" I don't know I could be wrong, but DL Hughley rocks the house in this "HBO One Night Stand" hands down!!!
