I have gone back to the beginning to be able to comment on stuff that i have wanted to comment to but forgotten to do. Oh man, the microphones in the beginning are rough but so glad you got the better ones later. I really enjoy watching this even though it is different from how I DM warhammer, and I think that shows the strength of the lore and the world that you truly can make it your own but still keep it recognizably warhammer. That said Andys lore knowledge and the enthusiasm he brings to the table is contagious through the screen. I haven't watched the rest of this series yet but I suspect it also fixes a really important flaw in the rules; monsters needing advantage points to use their special attacks. Trolls for example need a certain number of advantage points, I think it might be 3, to use their infamous vomit attack. Trolls only have 2 Initiative bonus, meaning they only can have 2 advantage points at most. If it's a binary system, then the Troll only needs to get advantage once to use its attack. Our party playing RAW fought a Troll, and despite the long length of the combat (~10 rounds if memory serves) it never got a single chance to use its vomit attack.
I absolutely adore this series! Currently binge watching the episodes and enjoying wonderful Andy and the excellent players bringing the Old World to life. Thank you for this stream! Endless inspiration for an aspiring WFRP GM!

4:08 Cath hits the mutant. How are you calculating successes? GM has -9 and Cath +7. Cass rolled a 70 (as she turns it to hitlocation 07 = Head). How are you getting these numbers (-9 and +7)? They seem very high.
Birdie has a WS of 81 - so 70 = 7 successes using fast SL. The mutant rolled very badly so a fail of 90-something (I don’t get to see behind the screen 😉) = -9 for them, which translates to +9 for me! Worth noting, I invested VERY heavily in WS for Birdie. Anything you want to add, @Lawhammer?
@@cathevans5736 Thanks for the answer! Ok, so the with the fast SL you do not add or substract, but take the rolled first digit directly? Hence the very high results when failing, while it doesnt really matter for successes which way to count. Brutal.
@@Gruoldfar er… success doesn’t matter which way to count … its just the 10s die straight up. A fail you calculate as normal skill minus rolled 10s die.
These characters have been played for about a year before we started the stream. And we're also using a large number of house rules, as discussed on the LAWhammer blog. www.patreon.com/LAWhammer If you want to know more, ask over on Discord: tinyurl.com/LAWhammerDiscord
At about 6:00 he mentions dfferent kinds of play. I am looking to run a game of WHFRP 4e soon, and have alway's seen the system as a means to begin play as nothing but rat catfchers and thieves and ending the game as "superhero's" if I want to do that, what rules would other';s suggest. (I am more asking anyone who see's this as I don't expect a response from the channel on an old vid.)
Looking forward to following your progress with this! Are you going to do a synopsis of the campaign (including spoilers). I'd love to know what your going to keep from the EiS 4e books and what you are planning to change :-)
Roll equal or under the tested Stat or Skill on a 1d100 to succeed. If you need to know how well you succeed, use the rolled 10s number to determine a number of successes. So a roll of 54 against a Skill of 67 is 5 successes. Or a roll of 12 against the same Skill of 67 is 1 success. The more successes you roll, the better the outcome. Does that explain it enough?
Does anyone know what Sage's accent is? I thought at first it was Japanese but after hearing her talk more I thought it might be Hong Kong because it reminded me a bit of a lady I met years ago who was from there.

We certainly had a lot of fun - hope you did, too.
Finally, I cannot wait for future sessions ❤
Delighted to read that!
Yay! The next goes up tomorrow. And we have a full 6 extra 1-on-1 seshes going up next Friday!
Danger hair 🚨
Yep, my first thought.
going to be a GM for this campaign , a couple of Q's 1: are the characters above the starting point of the characters you would use in the game 2. how did that critter do 42 wounds , any info , got rules , enemy in the shadows companion and enemy in the shadows on the way , thanks
Good luck with your campaign.
1) Yes, the characters have about 2.2K XP at the beginning of play. They had already played about 20 sessions.
2) The Large Creature Trait doubles the Wounds caused in combat.
Hope that helps. If you keep watching our campaign, you'll find a wealth of new ideas as you progress.
Also, if you just want to chat about the campaign in general, our Discord server is full of folks playing the campaign just now.
I hope that helps!
Well, hello there!
Hello there!
Starting my Journey after many LoreBeards!
@@ryanjedloe771 I hope you enjoy it. It stops at many ports.
@@LAWhammer I do hope so! The more the merrier! This first one was a load of fun! Off to episode 2 !
This is fantastic, thank you Andy. Are these episodes available on any listening services? Would love to listen more while walking my dogs daily, even if I lose the video.
Not yet, but that is on our to-do list.
@@Gruoldfar I suggest popping into our Discord. Let Andy explain it in there. Your summary is close, but not quite how it works.

I keep hearing stuff like "20 damage"
I'd like to know what house rules you're using for that much damage to be possible by starting characters.
Also, great show!!!
These characters have been played for about a year before we started the stream. And we're also using a large number of house rules, as discussed on the LAWhammer blog.

Delighted you're enjoying it!
I suggest dropping into the LAWhammer Discord server and asking there. There are a lot of WFRP gamers in there and they'll be happy to help.
Awesome, now I can watch the end 🙂
We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Looking forward to following your progress with this! Are you going to do a synopsis of the campaign (including spoilers). I'd love to know what your going to keep from the EiS 4e books and what you are planning to change :-)
I'll be dropping some blogs covering this, yes.
@@Hapimeses The blogs for these have already started for our All-Access patrons.

can someone explain the fast asl test successes? Am I still trying to roll less than my attribute score?
Roll equal or under the tested Stat or Skill on a 1d100 to succeed. If you need to know how well you succeed, use the rolled 10s number to determine a number of successes. So a roll of 54 against a Skill of 67 is 5 successes. Or a roll of 12 against the same Skill of 67 is 1 success. The more successes you roll, the better the outcome. Does that explain it enough?
@LAWhammer
That does help explain it for me. Thanks alot for the clarification!
is sotek ever going to join the gang?
Ask him if he wants to move to Edinburgh.
Does anyone know what Sage's accent is?
I thought at first it was Japanese but after hearing her talk more I thought it might be Hong Kong because it reminded me a bit of a lady I met years ago who was from there.
Japanese Italian.
Im very late for the party, but the lack of Dwarfs in the party makes me sad
We originally planned to have a Dwarf, but sadly the player had to drop out. We do have many Dwarfs in the episodes, to come, though. :D
Maps are great! Where to find/buy it?
Andy Law made them. All available on our Patreon for free.
Which system are they using?
As mentioned in the introduction, we're using a house-ruled version of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th edition. If you want to know more, dive into our Discord.

Where are the Lawhammer rules for elves?
And how did that mutant do 42 wounds?
The End Times of the Warhammer World was such a shitshow ending to a game system.
A game for non-sensitive adults? Count me in!
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. 😁
First episode was great
