@@CherayaMiyoko It’s definitely fulfilling my desire to travel to far away lands. You know how much I LOVE snacks! But the snack crate is not the only subscription box I subscribed to lol 🤦🏻♀️
yes i do!
i live in canada and i love everything you showed up
Hello @TheWanderfulLifeofKayla my name is Gabriel from Las Vegas Nevada I've never been to Canada but I've always wanted to visit before moving to Canada in the future other than that I've tried Canadian snacks and food other than maple syrup and maple leaf cookies I've tried mars candy bar that they have in Canada alongside aero I've tried there Kit Kat last night not bad at all the only difference between Canada's kit Kat and ours in America is that Canada's kit Kat is made of real cocoa and ours is milk chocolate if I had to choose I would prefer Canada's kit Kat more than the American I've tried Doritos flavored ketchup alongside ruffles all dressed I've tried Kraft dinner mac and cheese from Canada with ketchup and I've tried my favorite of them all Poutine and now today I'll be trying the coffee crisp today and ill let you all know how it turns out.
I definitely think Old Dutch are the superior Ketchup Chip. The Lays flavour came out wayyy later. They aren't bad, they are just their own thing if you ask me lol!
Are you from Canada? Thank you for giving me a little insight on the ketchup chip! They are seriously my favorite! Every time I cross the border I always need to bring myself back a bag of ketchup chips lol
When I was a teen, I worked early mornings in the snack canteen at a hockey rink. My breakfast was a Mr. Big dipped in hot chocolate.
Personally...I like Thrills gum...lol
Next time You're up here, getting more ketchup chips(hopefully a couple new brands, as well as Lays 🙂), and looking for a Coffee Crisp. Don't forget to look for dill pickle chips, and some cake snacks from a company called *Vachon.* I suggest their products "Jos Louis", "Billot Logs", and "Ah Caramel". You shan't be disappointed.
There are quite a few other candy bars I could suggest as well, but I'll leave You with the above for now.
I'd also suggest looking through the coolers, to see if there's any sodas we have, that You don't.
You know...to wash the chips and chocolate down with. 😀
Thanks for all of the recommendations!
I love those smarties! I used to get them from my family in England, yum!
Omg that is so cool that you knew what something in the Canadian box was!
I LOVE Ruffles All Dressed. Bought a massive bag at Costco last week and hubby and I downed the entire bag in 2 nights.
Canadian here... And yes Old Dutch is about as Canadian as it gets... Lays is the global company but we like them still.. On a side note, all Canadian products have both French and English writing on the packaging. Some of those you have there I didn't see both languages, snack crate may have cut corners lol... The juicy Maynards are my favorite.. 😉😉
I just love ketchup chips and wish they sold them here in the US. It's truly my kryptonite. Thanks for giving me some insight on the snacks in Canada!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla if you ever visit Toronto I'd be happy to show you the many different makes of ketchup we have... Ruffles makes a mean crinkle ketchup chip.
@@RainBitcoins That sounds heavenly!
I'm eating ketchup chips while watching this Haha!
BEST. CHIPS. EVER.
Lays ketchup are the best. Old Dutch is around but Lays are THE ketchup chip. Like Hostess made the original but those were discontinued in the early 2000’s but Old Dutch and Lays have been around for decades, but Lays IS the superior chip.
I LOVE the Lay's Ketchup chip! BEST chip around! Every time I cross the border that is the first thing I NEED to stock up on!
OMG it's right in the description so no surprise😀
Old dutch are NOT the best brand. They used to be gas station food before. But in the last 10 years, the company went all-Canada. They ARE harder and not as good as the other main brands. Western Canada LOVES them though.
When I was growing up and until I moved to BC in 2011, I ONLY ever knew Old Dutch as a Bleach maker (for washing clothes) I didn't even know they made food..
Good to know! What are the best ketchup chips then?
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla Not my favorite kind. But from my own experience and what everyone tells me... LAYS...
If you get any of those yellow or plain no-name brands, they are just the in-house brands of the major grocery stores. Loblaws, Safeway, Metro, Provigo, etc... Some are also regional or even just provincial brands...
And we have full of new "designer" chips...
What you have to understand, us that even if you get an American brand, like Doritos.. If they are made in Canada, they are NOT like the US kind. We have VERY different health laws and food standards. LOTS of stuff that Americans eat, is BANNED here. Too much fat, sugar and other "additive" or "filler" content.
There IS a reason for the obesity crisis in the USA...
JUST like the UK, we don't allow a lot of their meat products either. Heavy anti-biotic and growth hormone use. Which we suspect are really BAD for human development...
Anyways. The favorite chips of everyone is probably Ruffles followed by Doritos.. And then you go down the flavor profiles... All-Dressed is No. 1 (not for me, but I'm a bland kind of chip guy. I like low sodium Regular )
We are only 38 million. So the choices are more limited than in the USA. We are also NOT such obsessive consumers, so we are satisfied for a while, without the need to immediately need a NEW drug... (As Huey Lewis would say...)
I'm not dissing on the US (even though we have a right to after Trumpty-Dumpty..) Those are just facts.
A lot of people think that they let their manufacturers get away with anything they want for the sake of profits, because it also generates a whole slew of problems that the health industry benefits from. Remember. In the USA, you have to PAY to receive medical treatment. By LAW, all they are obligated to do if you are poor is "stabilize" you. Then they kick you out...
@@TheJimprez thanks for confirming that Lays has the best ketchup flavor even though it’s not your preferred chip 😊
lays is WAYYY BETTER
We have American Smarties in Canada, but they are called Rockets because the Smarties name was already trademarked.
First as a Canadian I have to tell you that I can't stand ketchup chips but Lay's is the go to for ketchup chips
Lays are the number one brand of selling potato chips and Old Dutch are number two selling brand.
Lays is the GOAT!
im from canada and i was woundering what people thought of our food and i love your food
I liked most of the snacks and candy! I absolutely LOVE ketchup chips 🤤
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla i thought people would hate it lol thy are kinda sweet
When you eat your smarties do you eat the red ones last? Do you suck them very slowly or crunch them very fast?
We have gushers in Canada too
Awesome!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla I agree with what you said though gushers are better than those mynards ones
@@ah.05 way better! There is more of a “gush” in gushers!
Hostess use to be the biggest and best flavoured chip in Canada until Frito Lays bought them out. Shame but today most prefer the lays brand.
Hi from Canada, I prefer the Old Dutch ketchup in most situations.
To be honest, I just love all Ketchup flavored chips. I'm sad I cant get them here!
All dressed are the best.
The “Soap Gum” came out in mid 90s simply called Thrills mainly avail in 25cent turn style vending dispenser and quickly became known as Soap Gum. Yrs later. It became avail in packaged form .. and the company ran with the public’s opinion of it. It’s actually Lavender flavour (hence the colour)
Also, in Canada , our equivalent to your Smarties ( small round chalky type candy) are called Rockets.
Yeah the soap gum tasted like a grandmas potpourri lol it’s definitely an interesting flavor!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla yea. No one actually likes it. Most folks buy it for the reaction of others. It’s 99% avail at our dollar stores. Convenience stores don’t carry it. (To my knowledge )
Avail
I was buying Thrills as a teen in the early ‘70’s…..it’s been around awhile.
The soap gum came out in the 60's my friend. We bought it because it was the cheapest at 5 cents a package.
Lays was the first ketchup chip to my memory. I'm central ontario and I remember them when I was like 7 like as long as dill pickle lays have existed and I'm 22 now
Ketchup and dill pickle, my two favorite chip flavors 😍
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla I'm not sure if the US has miss vickies potatoe chips but if your looking for a "gourmet" chip miss vickies is the best chip inside of Canada from crunch to flavour it's the thickest chip the crunchiest chip and the most flavorful
@@makecanadamorelikeamerica8957 yes we have Miss Vickie’s chips. Those are so pretty good chips. I love the crunchiness. The salt and vinegar is my favorite!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla if you havent tried the spicy dill pickle I reccomend it. Has a sweet spicy to it
@@makecanadamorelikeamerica8957 I will keep my eye out for that flavor to try out next! Thanks for the recommendation!
It's rosewater. Lavender
There are well over 10 brands of chips here in Canada that carry the ketchup chip. To be honest, I like some of the no name ones better. So I guess there's a ketchup flavour for everyone!
I love that you have so many different brands of ketchup chips!
Hi im 🇨🇦 , french Canadian, my spelling in English sucks so " sorry Eh " 😁 ,the Thrill gum exist for a long time ,im almost 50 yo and for me that gum have always exist .
Peace and love from Trois-Rivières,Québec 🇨🇦
OMGosh that is so cool! The Thrill gum is so weird. Like I was kind of like, "WTF is this?" Definitely an interesting thing that you guys have in your country! Thanks for checking out the video!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla my pleasure .
Stay safe ❤from🇨🇦
@@dominicleblond Thank you! You as well!
This snack crate box seems very interesting ! It's definitely the same goal as my channel : discovering food from every other countries ;)
I love trying new foods and snacks when I travel. And since I haven’t been able to fulfill my wanderlust and can’t travel internationally, I thought this would be the next best thing!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla haha I totally agree ! :D
I said payday too! Haha
Haha but it was a Babe Ruth I was thinking of haha
American smarties in canada are called rocket candies!!! same thing but a different name!
Old dutch is a cheap brand of cheaps. There the ones youll get for a dollar. The best ketchup chips youll find is lays but doritos came out with ketchup chips that are pretty bomb!! Im from montreal by the way! :)
Hold up, Doritos has a ketchup chip?!?!? Is it in the shape of a Dorito?
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla yup! The bag is very different then the other Doritos flavours but it’s pretty awesome! 😋
@@tinalebeau6438 keeping me eyes out for them!
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla
AAAAAAAND.....Pringles has Ketchup too
@@timcarder2170 stop it!!!!! I NEED to try these!
The Old Dutch ketchup chips are delicious, but not sold in all stores, at least in my area. The Lays are much easier to find, so they are more popular in my area.
American Smarties are called Rockets in Canada.
I’m surprised they didn’t put Coffee Crisp in the box. It’s the best chocolate bar!
I love ketchup chips, no matter the brand. I wish they were sold here in the US but it’s probably a good thing it isn’t, otherwise I’d eat my body weight in them.
You have my attention on coffee crisp! Sounds amazing! I’ll have to keep my eyes open for that one to try!
yea same i live in canada and smarties is what they called rockets for us smarties iskinda like mnms
The bottle on the package is not salt it is vinegar.
I’m still confused how “soap” flavored gum is a thing?!?!
Oh it’s a thing! It taste like a potpourri grandma soap. But a few Canadians have confirmed, it’s a thing and it’s been around for a long time lol What a wild concept!
That’s sooo crazy!!
The flavours are rose water and lavender hence the floral or soap taste
@@robert3345erickson yeah it’s definitely and interesting taste that’s for sure!
ITS MY FAV
I personally prefer Lays Ketchup chips. Old Dutch isnt as readily available. But as others have said Coffee Crisp not included is insanity. It is by far my favourite chocolate bar!
Everyone keeps talking about coffee crisp and I am so intrigued! Next time I cross the border I will be in the hunt for one! What makes the coffee crisp so special?
@@TheWanderfulLifeofKayla You should! Tbh I dont know. It is like a light kit kat but with a nice coffee flavour.
@@lordpuppyrd7989 sounds amazing!!! I need to get my hands on one of those!
Lay's used to be "Hostess" and Old Dutch was Humpty Dumpty
So, American Smarties taste like chalk and Canadian Smarties taste like chalk-let?
you know us canadains always eating soap
Haha it’s just such a weird concept and flavor!
We have your smarties too here in Canada but they’re called Rockets and we throw them out when we get them for Halloween. Also we also have gushers.
Yeah I have heard from fellow Canadians that you have the US version of the smarties. No one likes them here either. In fact, we would always throw them out when we got them for Halloween. One of the worst candies!
We have your smarties but they are name « Rockets »
Yeah that is what a fellow Canadian told me!
Old dutch is the OG ketchup chips, forget the Lays..it's a pretender.
