- Sun Country flight 602 from Phoenix suffered a flap failure while descending into Minneapolis on March 25th, 2023. After troubleshooting southeast of the airport, a landing was made without flaps extended. The approximate landing speed based on data from Flightradar24 was 190 knots. After stopping on the runway, SY602 was inspected by fire crews to ensure a safe taxi to the gate. No issues were found other that warm brakes.
Outstanding job by the pilots, ATC, and fire crews.

Good job crew!
Fantastic capture! May I feature this zero flaps landing in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. All the best to you and happy 2024!
Thank you! Most certainly! Likewise 🍻
Great catch! I love how you can tell they were coming in hot...yet they had no problem stopping the speedy 737. Love seeing the engineering work as well as the ops team around the airport move when N830SY came to a stop. Thanks for sharing this! Especially love seeing my home/favorite airport get some love on RUclips.
Thanks man! Glad I was able to be in the right place at the right time. 🍻
While they're inspecting the flaps in the hanger ... take a look at the brakes, too. lol
@@luvthedrake1375 no need to check the brakes, they work! 😂
@@twincitiesaviator What is the appropriate procedure in this case? After touch down, using reverse thrust only to slow down somewhat and then use the brakes, or hitting the brakes right away after touch down together with reverse thrusters?
The calm demeanor of everyone is amazing. Just another landing…..
Nice catch
Thanks!!
I mean...I can't help but ask if we could get Airforceproud95 to do a VATSIM session into MSP on an old NWA bird...now that I see he flew past the comment section...
Nice catch! Would you be okay with me featuring this in my series Weekly Dose of Aviation? Of course you will be credited both in the video and in the description as before. Thanks!
Go for it!
These pilots are bosses!
Thanks!
Amazing day to catch a emergency landing. It was great spotting with you Harrison and alex. Thanks for the great content.
Nice shooting! I was parked rampside at the B concourse doing training. The Allegient plane at the end of your video ended up taking off of 30R due to the Alert 2.
Thank you Steve! I forgot where they went thanks for that 😆.
Airport Fire needs a lot of applause for being ready for these emergencies. 👏
Good teamwork by pilot, ATC and the Fire Department. The plane was able to land safely and that's what counts. Well done!🛬👏👏👏🙏
Landing is always good.
Great vid! You always do such a wonderful job.

Are you going to upload the footage you got in the rain today?
Yes
@@twincitiesaviator nice 👍
i notice there's a watermark in the video this time, that's new.
Good catch. It's hard for me to see exactly where they stopped, but they didn't appear to use a whole lot more of 30L than a 737 normally uses when coming in. I'm guessing that they must have used maximum braking or something.
Thanks! I can confirm that they did indeed stop in the distance a 738 would on a normal basis.
Ya..he stopped before reaching 4/22 so that's pretty short under those conditions. You notice he did have leading edge slats so that helps slows the approach speed a little plus the spoilers deployed soon as he touched down so that helps a little bit too.....
This ATC pushes tin. Clearing a takeoff when the emergency aircraft is half a minute out.
An aggressive play for sure.
What Was That Emergency Landing For???🤔💭🚨🆘🛬
Inoperative flaps
