Also Dimond drive was awesome. Allowed the lay down engine to sit even lower in the tub making the Mseries the best side hilling sled out there. Still can side hill one one handed easier than new sleds.
Love your channel man, and these old cats. Got 3 Mseries chassis at home. Got a crossfire snopro 1000 im gonna long track to a 153. Going for an HCR1000. Not sure how to clutch it though.
I had an M7 and an M1000, the weight of the motor was very noticeable as soon as you start riding, it was super fun, tons of power, but the weight was there
The 1000 with Y pipe 188hp Pipe Y-Pipe 196hp. One day ill own a 1000 cross fire or maybe a M idk. Iv had a lot of diamond drives never had a problem. Still own my Z1 turbos making up to 300hp still going lol!! Run slp on all my sleds love them. Im betting on the M 1000 lol!!
Every diamond drive I have been around has been good. Thats a hard one to judge. That 900 will have serious power and with that sled being newer its going to he lighter, I have you guys running neck and neck. I just watched a 03 firecat F7 wax a brand new ski doo 850 no problem at my local grass drag.
@@OldSchoolArcticCats It's going to be close! I really do think, just got a sled for free that is going to get built up to be able to grass drag, got a 97 zr580 efi that has a 136 track and rails put on it with zr440 Sno pro racing shocks. Runs good except the track is junk, the tunnel has a slight bend to it and the rear skid needs rebuilt and the left side heat exchanger that runs under the tunnel got eaten alive by a couple studs.
@@OldSchoolArcticCats 08 has 6500kms and 12 has 3500 kms , but ol f7 is 2" , 153, pipe and fuel pressure regulator, it's got over 10k kms and going strong
How many feet is the track. Grass drag 300' is it a hill climb is it an oval race is it a frozen lake ice speed run is it a water cross. What kinda race is it. If it's a standard 300' grass drag I unfortunately go Cody. If it's a 1000' speed rub I go rocky, hill climb I go toss up but would bet on Cody as he is arguably lighter an dare I say a better hill racer? Bottom line short race the 900 long race the 1000. Nuff said
Diamond drive was the single worst failure of all time for Arctic fat…. It’s what ruined the brand because all their fast sleds got slower and all their reliable sleds got less reliable. Back in 07-10 I used to ride in the mountains 5 trips a year. There was a ton of these M series sleds that were stranded or in the shop with cannon balled diamond drives. They were junk, absolute junk.
Diamond drive works great...just need to change oil often and the ones with the bad bearing needed upgrade... The only reason they gave up diamond drive was the cost to license it. .

I like the Diamond Drive system.. Mine has held up great.👍

Thanks for the support! Let me know how the clutch work goes. To be honest I’m not even sure what clutch weights or springs I have in my M1000…
the m series was a very good handling chassis. i still got my m7. never ridden those m1000s but they look like a riot!
They are torque factories!!

Woah. nice hat!
Diamond drive seems to be pretty good I’ve only road my 2011 crossfire 800 sno pro last year and I love it definitely my favorite sled!

awesome, get a 1200 big bore kit and surprise him XD havent seen those big bores in a while now
2009+ was best years of M chassis with the better tunnel super predictable handling
Always loved the m chassis. And the diamond drives are great until theyre not lol. Love the content 🤙
Amazing content. Is he your neighbor by coincidence? Or did you get him into sleds?
Coincidence, I moved in and we meet out in the field on snowmobiles.
@@OldSchoolArcticCats that's really cool.
Love the M-series, but the dragon 800 is a pretty great sled when it doesn't blow up😂
The Dragon 700 seems to be really good 👍
Ah good ol Suzuki! I got a litter of cats, f7,and 2 M8's
What year or M8’s?

500ft grass drag!
@@OldSchoolArcticCats rocky by a few inches then. I believe the m1000 will back half the 900 hard
