Pull the bolt back and lock it open. Then put the magazine in the correct way. It should work.

I have one of these in transit here now. I've heard the 10/22 mags are a lot easier in or out. Is this true?

If that takes a 10/22 magazine, there are a couple of companies that make an extension for them that will make them easier to remove

Have you tried the Ruger 25 round magazine? Do they fit?

I have the bolt action 22 magnum bergara and if the bolt is closed i have a hard time inserting a full mag. I ussually have to either load 1 less round per mag or open the bolt when loading a full mag.
