This is the title of the 1st English mini album from IDLE. There're 5 songs include ' I DO' the pre release single that has M/V too and B-side, are 'Eye role', 'Flip it', and 'Tall tree'. And this the first mini album that they didn't produced by themselves. For the M/V, I think it's her dream after read the red book 'c'est la vie'. This vedio show them want the deeply love but the found violence situation instead and they try to escape this by many ways. So the head😢 shot is not real . Just erase him in her mind. ( They are the same person, see all they ware the white outfit in intro and outro and the red book too). But some theory is about surviving domestic abuse. It's suggested only Minnie survived the guy, and maybe even died when she took him out. The others are all trapped in their place of death (the flower is symbolic for the graveyard🪦, until Minnie frees them when he died. It's about surviving domestic abuse. As we understand it, the guy was in a toxic relationship with all of the girls, but only Minnie (maybe) survives it, and his death frees all the girls trapped in their places of death. Note all the flower references. Filthy synth and Miyeon's heavy vocals highlight the hard content. "Eyes Roll" and "Flip It" have the same vibes from the album.
I saw somebody's really interesting theory about the MV and I thought I share it: The man is a serial killer and all the girls are his victims who he killed, except Minnie. The girls are spirits or ghost therefore, they are haunting the place they were die ( Miyeon at the pool - we see her drowning at some point - and with water all the time, Soyeon in the room, Yuqi on the staircase - she was pushed down probably, Shuhua died in the car). We also see a lot of flower which people often bring to funerals. The girls are taking revenge on the man through Minnie - we saw all of them holding the gun. After the man died, their spirits find peace, that is why we see them in white and happy. They disappear and the only living one, Minnie stays in the end.
The song goes hand in hand with what (g)i-dle has been telling with his music, in this case the abuse between couples, at first they are seen happy and then they are seen as the man mistreats them, there is a theory that says that the abuse was so great that the boy killed them, Shuhua in the car, Yuqi down the stairs, Miyeon drowned, Soyeon Hanged, Minnie found out about this, she was going to marry him, but they did not get married, Minnie murders him so he can avenge the girls who were his partner and died at his hands, as well as not do that to any other woman again. The lyrics sound strong, coming from her perspective within the abuse without realizing it and at the same time knowing the damage she is suffering.
You should really check out the full album!! Eyes roll and flip it are really good!! Every reactor so far has been really impressed with the both bsides.
+1 And the MV for I DO its imo their best MV and I DO was a debut eng song while HEAT is a debut eng album in colab with 88rising that the symbol u asked at the begginig.
No this isn’t the first release after queencard they released a song called“I do” before this and they also have a new album called “heat” I think you should check it out
The "no, c'est la vie " should mean "not forgiving or not letting it pass" which can mean wanting to get revenge. You can verify it in the next verse "I want you to fall hardest of all"
The whole phrase on the lyrics is "I want that, oui, merci, no, c'est la vie" which roughly translated means I want that "yes , thank you", and not that "sorry, that's life". They are putting together two french idioms and choosing between the two. It just means i don't want to be told that you cant have this or that because such is life, i want it. You can apply that to the visual storytelling when you watch the video the same way you do with the general feeling of the song: I am not just going to accept your abuse and be your slave, I am going to take my life back and think of my own needs and wants first. Oh, yeah, I am also going to shoot you.
'' C'est la vie'' mean this is life in French and you can't find another meaning to it xD it doesn't mean anything else. If you want you can use it like ''you can't do anything against it, this is life'' I agree with the comment of dacree but the original comment is wrong
Just a couple of notes about the (prevailing ?) theory that the characters, other than Minnie, are murder victims. (I apologize if someone else has already covered this.) First, that the characters are pictured with flowers late in the video is a nice touch, symbolizing grief over their death. Second, that means that any time that the others are pictured with Minnie, they are ghosts. At the end, when their grudges are satisfied by Minnie having killed their murderer, they appear to be at peace, then they disappear. This strikes me as very much a kdrama-like theme, if not a trope. Unless, of course, I am completely wrong....
Please react to their full Heat album! Its their first album promotional release for western market made by big names in the west ❤ you would love it ❤
Miyeon's prechorus and bridge where she did a pretty crazy run is my favorite! The song kinda sounded flat to me at first but hearing Miyeon's prechorus added a different flavor. The MV is good it's like a movie and of course the acting is superb
This is designed pretty much for the US debut. All songs are in English and the whole EP is a banger. Eyes roll tho is the best imo. But all of it really.
as far as i know c'est la vie means something like "it is what it is" because "that's life" so with "no c'est la vie" they're saying something like "being abused isn't c'est la vie i dont deserve this and i'll fix it" but that's just my personal interpretation!
Your reaction videos are my favorite along with formoftherapy’s. I really appreciate that you look at them in depth and go much beyond showing some hype. You tend to catch on nuanced metaphors and intentions in these mv’s pretty quick and it’s satisfying to see you figure stuff out. The dreamcatcher reactions are also a great example of this ❤ In the mv, I believe every member has dated the guy at some point. Minnie is last, and everyone before her got SA’d and k*lled by him. Minnie starts dating and imagining a future with him, and at some point learns about his past; hence there’s his past victims’ bl00d on her hands. The de4d girls are stuck at their place of m*rder, unable to move on. Minnie takes on their resentment along with hers, and k*lls the guy, revenging the girls and setting them free. They are finally free to walk alongside -in spirit- with Minnie, their respective scenes have flowers and brighter lighting. Though only Minnie survives, the rest get to move on as well. (Even though this peace came from a violent action, which is symbolised by the guys bl00d Minnie stepped on) Lyrics wise, I think verse A and B are both by the guy’s perspective, coercing his gf. The chorus is the girls during the relationship. A:oui -then B should say-:merci, A:no -then B should say-: cest la vie, meaning oh well, such is life. It’s literally them demanding acceptance of consent. And the bridge is obviously girls’ perspective after sh*t goes down. I love how even though they couldn’t have the c’est la vie they wanted in that relationship, they did what they could about it and closed that book with accepting.
C'est le vie is like "oh just life" is like that difficult situation and u just say like, oh its ok thats how life works. Gidle is basically saying this isnt "life" and shouldn't be normal.

Thank you for sharing this theory !!
Now that I've read this, I honestly think this is what the MV is about. This is a killer theory!💚
It makes so much sense! 😮 thanks for sharing it!
Miyeon’s prechorus is phenomenal. You should check out the whole EP.
MINNIE High note 🎉
MIYEON Powerful vocal 🎉
Can’t wait for HEAT album reaction 🔥
Love this song! But "Eyes Roll" is the killer track.
I agree
Yes +1 for Eyes Roll
The song goes hand in hand with what (g)i-dle has been telling with his music, in this case the abuse between couples, at first they are seen happy and then they are seen as the man mistreats them, there is a theory that says that the abuse was so great that the boy killed them, Shuhua in the car, Yuqi down the stairs, Miyeon drowned, Soyeon Hanged, Minnie found out about this, she was going to marry him, but they did not get married, Minnie murders him so he can avenge the girls who were his partner and died at his hands, as well as not do that to any other woman again. The man massacre people in the church during his wedding with Minnie. She survived and came back to get him
No
Minnie's high note is heaven
It is miyeon's high note
Minnie told fans it was her high note during the live streaming last week
it’s Minnie
@baoduongminh5197 it is minnie, she conformed it herself in a fancall
You should really check out the full album!! Eyes roll and flip it are really good!! Every reactor so far has been really impressed with the both bsides.

Yesss I was waiting for this reaction! Miyeon pre chorus is amazing
I think you miss 'I Do' the 1st English Single of the that's released in July.
actually it is kind of a title track for their english debut album ‘heat’
Miyeon pre-chorus is 💚
you should react to I DO, it’s also included in their english album called HEAT
The "no, c'est la vie " should mean "not forgiving or not letting it pass" which can mean wanting to get revenge. You can verify it in the next verse "I want you to fall hardest of all"
Also the MV clearly shows revenge
The whole phrase on the lyrics is "I want that, oui, merci, no, c'est la vie" which roughly translated means I want that "yes , thank you", and not that "sorry, that's life". I agree with the comment of dacree but the original comment is wrong

It's the tittle track for they're new english ep HEAT
This is designed pretty much for the US debut. All songs are in English and the whole EP is a banger. Eyes roll tho is the best imo. But all of it really.
C'est la vie means it's life
as people already mentioned you should check out "eyes roll" and "flip it" from the album. those songs are as good as this one imo
as far as i know c'est la vie means something like "it is what it is" because "that's life" so with "no c'est la vie" they're saying something like "being abused isn't c'est la vie i dont deserve this and i'll fix it" but that's just my personal interpretation!
Concept, music, lyrics, and production by 88 Rising, as is the entire album.
That's right, it doesn't sound like their other music cause Soyeon didn't make it
The whole album is awesome
