The Houstons was a band formed by Hiroto Komoto in 1995 for a limited time when THE BLUE HEARTS was on hiatus. The band disbanded after their live performance at Shimokitazawa CLUB QUE on January 31st of the same year.
They performed live in January and May 1995. Their first live performance was at "Kiyoshiro Imawano Sutekina Hatsumode '94-'95".
Masatoshi Majima participated as a member only for live performances. Sumito Ariyoshi participated as a support member for studio recordings and early live performances.
The songs by Hiroto Komoto on THE BLUE HEARTS' last album "PAN" are songs by the Houstons. They also performed "Just a Little Bit" and "Mado wo Akeyou", which were not released on CD by THE BLUE HEARTS.
Currently, THE BLUE HEARTS' last album "PAN" only contains the songs "Houston Blues (Wolf on the Moon)," "Boin Killer," and "Walking Flower." No single singles have been released under the name of The Houstons, but there are many other studio live recordings available.

1995年1月と5月にライブをした。「忌野清志郎 -素敵な初詣 '94-'95」にてライブ初登場。
真島昌利はライブのみメンバーとして参加している。スタジオ音源、最初期のライブでは有吉須美人がサポートメンバーとして参加している。
THE BLUE HEARTSのラストアルバム「PAN」の甲本ヒロトの楽曲は、このヒューストンズの曲である。THE BLUE HEARTSでCD化されなかった「ほんの少しだけ」「窓をあけよう」も演奏していた。
現在THE BLUE HEARTSのラストアルバム「PAN」に「ヒューストン・ブルース （月面の狼）」、「ボインキラー」、「歩く花」が収録されているのみで、ヒューストンズ名義のシングルは一枚も発売されていないが、スタジオ・ライブ音源はこの他にも多数存在する。
