    great vid wolfslash. i stumbled into vortex hobbies one day and was amazed by the amount of parts you stock and the super friendly staff. i live in utah county, and compared to your store i am wildly unimpressed by the hobby shops in my area.

    What was the run time? Great video by the way

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад +1

      Run time for it is around 20-30 min on 5000 mah batteries, either 4s or 6s. I've run it on 7600 mah 4s and that was good 45 min of run time. Thanks.

    so the jump at 9:00.. was that the self-righting feature or did you do that yourself?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад

      The self-righting feature is only engaged by pushing the programming button on the top of the remote. So your answer is no that is throttle control by the driver.

    Was anything broken on the truck after this video? Please reply to me, I got this truck it's my first r/c big truck that is not nitro and I really want to know how far can it be pushed without getting broken

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад

      Nothing was broken at all. It survived the entire video without damaging or breaking anything, this truck is a beast.

    • @BOTAJELL
      @BOTAJELL 9 лет назад

      Brother , if you wanted real truck that's big ? You should of got the LOSI 5T!! Gas !! Hands down! And if you don't want it that big you could of got the DBL XL!! Then once your tired with the stock dbl XL motor ,you can upgrade it with an OBR motor!! Any questions? You should got a Nitro or XXL2 LST GAS! My neighbors shed went up on fire because of this crap electric medium sized all plastic truck. Plus they have no soul to them ! They sound so fake. It's not a real living thing like a nitro or a gas. They can not breath, drink, and fart like a NITRO OR GAS!

    What size 3cell batteries did you use?

  • @JohnN1k
    @JohnN1k 5 лет назад

    I've seen lots of X-Maxx jumps in videos and it seems most of the times that they flip, they land on tire side down. How is that possible?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  5 лет назад +1

      The short answer is it is something you learn with practice. Using Trigger control when you're in the air by changing the direction and using the rotational force of your tires when airborne and using break you can alter the position of the car to bring it down on all fours. That applies when you're doing a flip a backflip or just a big long-distance huge jump.

    question, do you think that this truck should have been it 8s capable?.. will the truck be at risk of overheating if geared up on 6s?

    • @danielmcdonald2014
      @danielmcdonald2014 9 лет назад

      for my knowledge the truck should be ok if geared up on a 1600 kv motor as it is low in kv so shouldn't heat up. also there is people out there putting a castle creation xl2 esc in it for 8s use as this truck is really heavy

  • @hammerhome7879
    @hammerhome7879 9 лет назад +2

    I stand corrected , in this video it seems to have balls. Thanks for the video , try gearing up and see what you lose in run time and TQ ...and post it up

  • @rawkemsawkem3328
    @rawkemsawkem3328 9 лет назад

    Traxxas has a habit of claiming a high number for top speed..., but it's only good for speed runs on concrete. if this thing is geared up, is it still good to run off road without overheating? Just wanted to clarify that question

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад

      That would be a fairly true statement. Traxxas always releases the top speed with high gears and high voltage batteries. It is only meant for speed runs. That being said I don't think those vehicles could handle their job advertised on rough terrain. due to tire parts suspension excetera.

    great video. is this 4s or 6s ? plus with the Bluetooth handset can u change the motor performance I. e punch control braking motor timing ?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад +1

      With the Bluetooth module it gives you the ability to change basics like servo end points, direction, and other simple adjustments. The motor and ESC are fixed, so punch control and motor timing are not adjustable.

    • @danielmcdonald2014
      @danielmcdonald2014 9 лет назад

      Thanks for information. And also can you gear this truck up to do 50 mph as it does 45 mph on 6s as stated ?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад

      Out of the box it's been clocked at 35 mph on 6s, and around 25-30 mph on 4s. Stock gearing is 14/54, and you can gear it up to 18/54. We haven't had a chance to see what the higher gearing will do for speed, but 45-50 mph is predicted.

    • @danielmcdonald2014
      @danielmcdonald2014 9 лет назад

      +Vortex Hobbies R/C Hobby Store thanks for the information I also heard this has a xo1 system in it. would be crazy if u could unlock the system on there for more speed. but then again 45 mph would be just about right for this kind of truck. thanks again

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад

      That's partly true, it does have the motor from the Xo-1 in it. It has a different motor can, so it's mounts differently, but it's basically the same otherwise. The ESC however is not from the Xo-1, it's called the VXL-6s, and it's 100% brand new to this truck, so what you see if the max from the ESC. Gearing is the only way to go faster with the stock electronics.

    What's the speed difference between 4s and 6s?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад

      From I've found the top speed on 4s is around 25 mph, and the confirmed top speed on 6s is 35 mph.

    how much does it weigh? also Hey Kyle u were the one who sold me those gears for my Losi mini Baja!
    THX so much! my car needs so much modifications and by the looks of your store I will be coming back soon for some parts.
    BTW what do you think is the best vehicle for dominating west jordan? XMAXX, YETI XL, or SUMMMIT?

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  8 лет назад

      +Wyatt Thayne first off this is not Kyle. But when looking at those three tracks I would have to say first off the Summit is an awesome track has been tried and proven over several years and you can not forget it has amazing parts support at this point from lots of different companies. The Yeti is awesome as well I still have to say I think it is one of the best looking Rc on the market . I have had awesome performance and reliability with mine. I've put my XL through the Hurt Locker and have not broke apart yet. The Traxxas xmax design is very cool . With its lockdown shell and chassis being so integrated with shock towers and the way it wraps its steering servo very cool. Plus a whole bunch of other features that we could talk about that are new for Traxxas. It is definitely a cool vehicle. With that being said that is also the reason I would probably give that vehicle a little more time. The part support is not there yet and I think they're still working out a few potential bugs . I would probably say for right now go with the Yeti XL. It comes in RTR and a kid version.

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад +1

      Top speed out of the box has been clocked at 35 mph on 6s. You can gear it up to get up to 60 mph, but that's not recommended.

    Looks a little under powered

    • @Vortexhobbies
      @Vortexhobbies  9 лет назад +1

      It looks that out of the box, I agree. It's geared really low for torque out of the box. It tops out gearing wise rather early, gearing it up will really wake it up.

  • @giannetto1000
    @giannetto1000 9 лет назад +2

    Dunno guys,to me it looks terribly heavy,slow and underpowered...Or maybe is just an impression,due to the giant size of the vehicle...

    • @mq1991
      @mq1991 9 лет назад

      +giannetto1000 I just got mine a few days ago, videos do not do it justice. Flooring it on almost any surface will immediately flip it over, and it will get to 35 mph very quickly. You can change the spur to a 46 tooth or bump up the pinion and get 45mph no problem.
