We gathered a little of everything from the garden, potatoes, carrots, green beans, corn, tomatoes! Made a glorious soup with chicken and rice, no neighbor chickens were used!
Awww, fine video, Nina! 🙂 What a great way to "showcase" you making a meal out of a portion of your harvest! Ya know, perhaps if a lot more folks (who have the means & the place to do it), would be willing to grow vegetable gardens & learn how to cook the things they grow, and learn what it means to depend on them for a certain percentage of their nutrition; this ol' country and a lot of the folks in it, might be a lot better off!! I pray for the day when I can once again acquire a place to grow a garden of my own and perhaps; even raise a few chickens, too! For when I do, I very much look forward (just for the fun and enjoyment of it) to doing something like you did here, AT LEAST ONCE! 🙂 Thanks for filming & sharing this one, Nina; I hope a lot of folks will not only enjoy it but will become inspired to follow your great example!! May God Bless, You & Josh "Ten-Fold!!" A Friend Always, Ron Abilene, TX.
That’s so awesome! My family and I will be having our first harvest meal this afternoon. Almost the same meal as you except the corn is still a week or 2 away. I’m so jealous of the long growing season you enjoy. Us folks in Northern Alberta only have 3 months!!! Looks really hearty and much appreciation for sharing
My cukes and greenie beenies are done. Pulled 'em up today after I finished mowing. Tomatoes and peppers on deck until the weather cools down. Then, lettuce and cabbage. I waved the white flag on the sweet corn earlier. At least I fed the deer. Using cherry tomatoes to make spaghetti sauce.
Sincerely one of the best videos Y'all shared yet! Much appreciated as I swear I could smell everything cookin as well as the fragrance from the garden when pickin!
Hey Nina!!! Glad to see you cooking again!! My first question would be: if you're going to boil the chicken for 25 minutes, why season it?? Didn't most of the seasoning just go to the water and not stay with the chicken??? (I only boil chicken for my dogs, so I'm no expert here, thus why I'm asking). My granddaughter Ezzie (2) loves tomatoes!!! Before the heat killed everything we'd pick them off the vine, wash them and she'd eat them as fast as we could clean them (the cherry tomatoes that is). Were you hoping that your Magic Bullet would grow more containers and bases, as to why you planted it??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And plugging the base into the potato... CLASSIC!! Maybe some bacon would enhance it a bit... I still have some of that salty smoked bacon I made if y'all want it???? Looks good Nina!! Howdy Josh!!
That looked amazing. I took down that recipe. We’ll be enjoying some of that amazing looking soup very soon. Thanks for that recipe. Keep up the good work. Doing a great job!!!

Looks delicious and I am guessing it is one of those things that get better the more times you reheat. Only thing missing was onions.

I find that when growing carrots, I have to give them more time in the ground than annotated on the seed package. Zone 8b

Üdv Nina.. Kíváncsi vagyok arra , hogy a kutyák megkapták a csontot? Mert láttam hogy nagyon várják !!!!!
Never give your dogs chicken bones. They splinter too easily.
It's a very good feeling to make a meal out of food you've grown or raised yourself.
Hay now 12:30 thems good groceries Shug...
