Thanks for this fun and informational video-I am wondering, are you able to use counted cross stitch patterns for brick stitch? To me, they look very similar.
Hi, Sue! Great question! Cross stitch is a little different from brick stitch. The "dots" in cross stitch line up with one another, whereas in brick stitch, the beads are staggered. You could use square stitch for adapting cross stitch patterns.
@@cathysmith6647 nothing is used to stiffen them. You may want to go through some of the more flexible parts again with your thread for more reinforcement.
Hi Katrina. We like to use size 12 beading needles for brick stitch and like them to be long and flexible. Tulip beading needles are Cynthia's favorite: www.artbeads.com/jewelry-supplies/tulip-beading-needle-no-12-need-21/
Excellent video. I’m especially happy that I now know how to do “an increase plus one.” Thank you!
Yay! Happy to help and thanks for watching.

Great video. Have not tried brick stitch but you make it look easy. Thank you..
Brick stitch is easy, that's why we love it! We hope you get a chance to try it :)
This looks fun and challenging! Thanks for clear instructions and camera closeups!!
We love a good challenge and brick stitch was one we were happy to master! Hopefully you get the chance to try it. We appreciate your kind words!
Great instructions. This video makes the brick stitch very clear. Thanks so much.
This kind of designs really need hard work and talent. You are talented :)

You're welcome, we hope this video was helpful :)
I couldn't find the diagram that you showed at the end of the video. Can you post a link to it?
Hi there. You can find the diagram here: cms.artbeads.com/docs/default-source/tutorials/pdfs/abt-20170720-brick-stitch-diagram.pdf
I notice that you are using KO thread for these. Could you do this with Fireline, or do you recommend using a softer thread? Great video!
You could use Fireline, but KO seems a little more flexible in a stitch like this.
Thank you very much for your quick reply! Also, are you using anything to stiffen the finished pieces? They seem to have good body as you show them.

What size needle do you prefer? And do you like them to be sharps?
