    Thank you. I just had an upgraded ac system installed. Yes in December. Covered under warranty. Problem started in August. I first suspected a duct leak due to high energy bills.
    Technically it was a short circuit.
    WHEN does iecc require the test? After an upgrade? After a new install? Every Annual maintenance check?

      Code does not require the checks annually, but it is a good idea to looks for any leaks.

      A good way to find and seal leaks is using smoke to determine leaks...once leaks are found apply mastic to leaking areas if accessible...most areas to focus on are return connection to plenum and supplies to supply plenum- cans/drywall - tees/ ys connections and the plenums Supply and Return to HVAC system...
