This is actually a quality campaign I have to admit. I did have a moment where I was like jeez this is getting Michael Bay-esque with all the explosions but then it got dark with the flashback section.

Why TF did they have to ruin their momentum after this? MW2019 is leagues better than MWII and III.The campaign felt more down to earth here, compared to the super soldier style stuff they do later (even if this is kinda a toned down "super soldier" type story compared to the other two).

Honestly, the only thing to criticize is General Barkov's motivations, but other than that the storyline and plot is seamless.
Agreed. I believe a little monologue other than typical 'i am evil man' would do wonders to this character.
He did have motivation, he believed he was protecting his country from terrorists, which in a way he was.
