You're the weekly golf therapist. All week, many of us try to complicate this wonderful sport, and you come to the rescue and put things back in order. Cheers, Danny!
Great video this morning Danny, this was just what I needed today. My biggest fault is tightening up my swing from trying TOO hard! Two turns and a swish - I LOVE it! This is going to be my mantra going forward. Thank you soo much for your continuing good humoured enthusiasm and clear instructions. Golf should be FUN.
Tried this out at the driving range the other day and it made a huge difference! I haven't been playing long but it felt so much easier and more enjoyable to keep things simple - I even added about 30 yards to my drive!
Grip pressure is also a key component of this exercise. If the grip is too tight it stiffens your wrists, forearms, upper arms, and shoulders which will make "letting go" and feeling the swish difficult if not impossible. Relax...your grip that is, and you'll find your arms will follow suit. Great video Danny. Thanks for your dedication.
You have completely revolutionized my swing. I have watched innumerable videos and content creators, but you are the only one who has had a consistent, positive impact on my swing! Thank you so much.
You're right about John Jacobs. I watched a TV series of lessons he did in the early 80s and was struck by the simplicity of everything he said. You have a similar style which makes your coaching so effective. Thank you.
I'm a 68 yr old newbie, and find your videos extremely helpful. There is so much to learn, but having a library of your instruction have been a gamechanger. I love your reverse engineering of the swing. Thank you.
Thanks for this lesson. My goal this year, at age 64, is to get my swing repeatable and keep things simple. Your videos are the best I have found anywhere.
Hi Danny, I've been reminded of the great John Jacobs who lived nearby. I had a couple of lessons from the great man. Like you he was so simplistic yet covered everything. I can hear his voice now with it's Yorkshire accent. " Dave, the golf swing is simple - Two turns and a swish". John was a Flight Engineer in the RAF Bomber Command on Lancasters at the end of WWII. I spent a couple of great evenings with him after the lessons. I was a pilot who just wanted to talk about golf, but John wanted to talk aeroplanes. We did a bit of both but only when I could drag John away from his favourite subject. A lovely man.He used to play at Bramshaw in the New Forest every week until he was forced to give up not long before his death. Keep up the good work Danny. You are a talented teacher.
As the body goes, so the swing goes… best reminder ever! As I was watching I went back to last week when I nailed my 5i 30yds farther than usual. Really believe it was me “ accidentally” hitting the grove of an effortless swing. Love how you married this with the shot put drill. Going to use this to improve my rotation.
Danny you’re a wonderful teacher, easy to understand and your instruction gives me encouragement week after week. I’m glad I found you a couple years ago!
I finally understand. This is the best explanation I have ever seen. Just practiced this in my backyard into a net and for the first time ever felt like I compressed a golf ball. Striking the ball using this method feels way different from my usual stiff swing. I can’t wait to hit the range again then hit the course. Thanks so much!
Thanks once more Danny. My swing has improved so much the past 6 weeks since I found your videos. My swing is way more natural and relaxed. Consistency has improved dramatically, but most important: it hardly feels like swinging takes any effort at all now.
Danny, a thing I am struggling with: how to create that initial momentum when standing over the ball. I find it so hard to go from that standing position to a flowing momentum. If I start my swing from a point beyond the ball, those two turns and a woosh feel so natural. But not when I start from a still position. Any pointers on that?
I have been having bad rounds lately with many topped and fat shots. Then I watched this video last night. I didn't really have any time to do the drills as I was playing today but I put to use your ideas when playing. It helped put my head back in the game by getting rid of all the excess thoughts and simplified my swing. My swing felt much smoother which resulted in a much better round today simply doing what you said. I also have been using your chipping technique with very good success. Thanks for all the great videos!
Danny I'm amazed your lessons just keep getting better. Four weeks ago I had a heart attack on the 16th hole and I spent 6-days in hospital after having a Stent inserted. I was reveiwing some of your lessons as a kind of refesher course while recovering in hospital. You can't keep a golf tragic down. I played my 1st game back on Saturday, your lessons were put to good use and I was amazed as to how well I played. I tried out the drill that you demonstrated in this Video. Because I'm very broard across the shoulders I placed the club in the middle of my back. That worked for me.
Danny..thank you! Video/drill suggestion: incorporating this and a couple similar drills of yours to the range today, I developed a fast tracked small to full swing drill. Place 4 balls about 1 ft apart away from you. Hit the first one as a chip shot. Step forward and hit it lead arm parallel. The next 3/4 swing. Finally with 4th ball full swing. Amazed me how much I could build and feel what I need to feel! You’re always moving..feeling loose and not bogged down frozen over the ball.
Danny having tried to play this elusive game for over 40 years, I think, through you I am beginning to see the light. Pre shot routine left cheek back, clubhead drop, left cheek back. So much easier. Had a meal in the 90’s with J.J didn't get any golf tips but learned a few conjuring tips. Thanks again, Danny
Hello. I tried this today. The shot put routine and then with the club. I then hit the best shots ever at the range and went through the bag 9 iron, 6 iron, 4H then 5W and Driver. This tip really works! Thanks Danny.
@@DanielMaude Hi Danny Your advice is always good and it gives me things to work on that makes practice interesting and productive Is this advice above the same for the longer clubs and especially driver Regards Paul
Danny. Used last week's lesson and had best back 9 ever. 44 shots. Really got some clean second shots which is vital at my home course which is long. You added some more gems again this week. Thnx!
Thanks again, Danny boy! You are the best. I hope the pros don't watch your videos because one of them would want to hire you as their personal coach/trainer, and we amateurs out here would lose you or see you less. If I were a pro golfer, I would hire you and pay you better than any other. May God bless you and your family with good health and keep the videos coming. Repeats and refreshers are welcome in my thinking.
GREAT VIDEO!! I woke up today after a good round yesterday thinking about my best shots I used the weight of the club to hit the ball. The first video I come across today is this!! So you just confirmed it. Thank you!
Danny I think I'm the newest here. Found you a month ago. I play with a true handicap. My leg was amputated July 7th. Since I've been watching you, you've helped tremendously in my listening game. I'm fixing to get fitted for a prosthetic. Once that happens I can put into play the notes I've taken. Thanks again for the easy to follow FREE instructions...
Danny you are a fantastic golf instructor I love watching your videos I believe that the way you break down the golf swing is going to help me thank you for being a good person and helping the you do it’s awesome and you do this for everyone cause I sure can’t pay someone to help me your a blessing thank you for all you do thank you so much
A huge thanks for your explanations. I’m playing about half year, and I was really bad . But honestly I watched few of your videos and I’m so happy with the results. I’m really improving my swing. Thanks a lot 😎
Danny your video of the irons where you talk about dragging the club back instead of flicking to get lag has just made me shoot my lowest round ever and win an open day comp at my club. Shot 9 strokes under my handicap and broke 90 for the first time with 11 over. You are some man cheers 👍🏻
This lesson helped so much. I have been too stiff and have not been using by feet properly. I played so much better yesterday after watching the video. I will watch this one several times.
After your last video using the shot put idea, I tried using this idea on the course. It does work. I was hitting my drives much further. Next step is using it on my shots in the fairway. Thanks Danny!
Manuel de la Torre would LOVE this video! As always, your instruction videos are TOP NOTCH! This always explains why my game gets better after a couple beers and my arms are more "relaxed". 👍
Superb coach. I used to watch 3 or 4 different RUclips guys, but just going to stick with you only as your teaching methods are quite simply the best mate. Thank you Danny.
Great video Danny what I like about your last couple of instructions is the way you talk about the ‘feel’ and how free flowing body movements (aided by simple drills and analogies) support the golf swing! Simple tips like the 45 degree visualisation! Thanks
Great instruction per usual!!! I am always impressed how simple you explain your lesson. Your videos have put me on the right track to make my swing better!
Great video.... it's worth mentioning that when u put ur club on the BACK of ur shoulder and rotate ...the shoulders are almost perfectly were they should be at setup... so many actually push/press them so much forward and together that all that stiffness comes from there... this natural posture in that practice tells a tale not many talk about ;))) Love all ur content... everyone over here do actually .... thank you so much buddy....

I shared with them your channel so hopefully they jump on board.

WOW! I've watched a gazillion videos over the years, and this makes so much more sense. Especially more than my buddy telling me all the things I'm doing wrong. Danny, gave this a try in the “garden”, then the range, and the course today. Promising on a sample of one day. Did notice I was pulling the shots…..not enough inside out, too fast?? Need a little adjustment and then some more work in the “garden”! As ALWAYS, great lesson tip. Thxs.
Great video. The 45 degree angle on the backswing, follow thu and setup was very helpful. Sometimes my backswing drifts beyond 45 and sometimes my set-up is more like 90. Also loved the easy drill. Will be practicing at home. Joyce
Thanks Danny, great video. Took the "Shotput" feel on backswing and follow through to the range this morning. Fantastic drill. Effortless swing, and no strain on the back, with increase in distance. This video should be watched by all golfers.
Great content and informative coaching session Danny easy ideas to keep the swing together the action of using the lower body is key we all sometimes concentrate more on hitting the ball as to swinging through the ball at the moment of impact my problem at the moment is early extension and hitting towards the toe end of the club this may help in keeping my posture keep these coming Danny cheers.
@@DanielMaude hi Danny . Worked well with the driver but still trying to nock the skin off the ball with irons . Then forcing it to direct it. But did in the latter half of the round started to trust the swing and then much better. Thanks
As an old guy, I learned in my youth very little from lessons from a pro, and actually learned enough to actually understand and adjust problems by reading and following Hogans 5 lessons. Todays vid seemed to me like one of the many components within these lessons. It would be really great if you could do a 5 lessons type of series, that starts with basics like grip, and simple study guides, and works through all the basics needed for us lacking basics to start to enjoy this really difficult game more quickly.
@@DanielMaude I think that the components are all there in various videos. We just need to be able to identify the sequence in which to follow the videos, rather than use them to tackle specific problems. As an athletics coach, I love your work and the way you break down and simplify the components. It's also helped me immeasureably with my golf game. Thanks and keep it up.
Thank you !! Enjoying your lessons. Now I am going to take this to the course and see if I can get back to playing golf instead of flog ( golf spelled backwards). ;) ;)

Thanks Danny, great video. Took the "Shotput" feel on backswing and follow through to the range this morning. Fantastic drill. Effortless swing, and no strain on the back, with increase in distance. This video should be watched by all golfers.
That’s wonderful Terry thanks for sharing
Another great video, back in the day I had a set of Copper John Jacobs iron set not knowing who he was until later.
He was a wonderful coach
Excellent video Danny ! I will put into practice today!
Have fun
Great content and informative coaching session Danny easy ideas to keep the swing together the action of using the lower body is key we all sometimes concentrate more on hitting the ball as to swinging through the ball at the moment of impact my problem at the moment is early extension and hitting towards the toe end of the club this may help in keeping my posture keep these coming Danny cheers.
If you can work on talking ground like a demonstrate when you throw the shot putt you will never early extend
Great Video! As always!
Thank you Karl, all the best
Brilliant and informative as always Danny, thank you for your efforts.
You are very welcome Ian have a great weekend
love this Danny ! especially the part at the end when you talked about your arms following what your body does.....compliment the motion....
Hope it helps Peter

This video is excellent, Danny. Good training and practice for muscle memory on your swing.
Hope it helps Willie
You explain so well Danny God bless you!
Thank you really happy to help
@@DanielMaude you're welcome and thank you for being gracious enough to help us improve!
Thanks Danny . Have been having trouble pushing shots and then over correcting I am sure this will help.
Love to hear how you get on Ray
@@DanielMaude hi Danny .
Worked well with the driver but still trying to nock the skin off the ball with irons . Then forcing it to direct it. But did in the latter half of the round started to trust the swing and then much better. Thanks
Love your enthusiasm too
Thank you are used to get criticised for it but it is just me
As an old guy, I learned in my youth very little from lessons from a pro, and actually learned enough to actually understand and adjust problems by reading and following Hogans 5 lessons. Todays vid seemed to me like one of the many components within these lessons. It would be really great if you could do a 5 lessons type of series, that starts with basics like grip, and simple study guides, and works through all the basics needed for us lacking basics to start to enjoy this really difficult game more quickly.
Great idea
@@DanielMaude I think that the components are all there in various videos. We just need to be able to identify the sequence in which to follow the videos, rather than use them to tackle specific problems. As an athletics coach, I love your work and the way you break down and simplify the components. It's also helped me immeasureably with my golf game. Thanks and keep it up.
Thanks Danny, keep it simple is very hard to do 😬 this video is amazing and makes absolutely perfect sense!! Got to save this one great advice 💥
Thank you Edward let me know how you get on
Another great Video, thank you Danny.

Hi Danny, tried these out on the course and 🤞they seemed to do the trick. 👍
That’s great John thanks for sharing
Thank you !! Enjoying your lessons. Now I am going to take this to the course and see if I can get back to playing golf instead of flog ( golf spelled backwards). ;) ;)
Love it Fred
