If you have followed SS Rajamouli for decades …you will know one thing for sure …. SSR takes the words of RGV damn serious…and RGV telling his next film will be “Baap of all films”…these words just pushes SSR to work harder ……SSR might not voice it out openly but he values a praise from RGV more than James Cameron or Steven speilberg or mani ratnam or raj kumar Hirani .

TRUE... Rajamouli becomes what he is with the inspiration from RGV's shiva film by choreographed fight scenes exactly in his debut film

27:29 Makkhi, Magdheera and Meri taqat mera faisala(dhanush sir's film) was very popular among us 2000's kids
I think they used to show it every week on star gold up until i got to highschool which would be around 2014-15

Sathya, Rangeela, Sarkar to name a few shook the hindi industry. He is a genius and he praising his competitor that's great thing.

@@050138 yes true I agree. He has done some amazing work.. but after going to Mumbai he was spoilt... that's what bwood did to him.. indirect suppression.

@@rationalbeing6797 putting all blame on Bollywood is as irrational as putting all blame on Pakistan, for every thing that goes wrong in India .... And doesn't go well with someone who calls himself rational being 😂😂
Being a Telugu guy, I will openly admit people and ecosystem in Telugu at that time was very narrow minded with commercial films of Raghavendra Rao ruling the roost and he reinvented himself after going to Bollywood.... Bollywood was more open minded and forthcoming with different cinema....
He has given his personal best like only after going to Bollywood like Rangeela, Satya, Company, Kaun, Sarkar, Bhoot, Darna Mana hai, Road.... And ruled Bollywood for over a decade
The reason for his downfall is running out of ideas, using up all the ideas of his favorite films (from video cassettes) that he watched of international cinema, internet arrival and audience also getting exposure to world cinema, Production values increase in films and he not being to adapt himself to better technologies and equipment, not adapting to different formats like OTT, burning his bridges with old friends and working with 2nd and 3rd grade technicians.... and most importantly he changed psychologically as a person when his Sholay remake flopped and every body trolled him mercilessly ....

@@050138RGV had the talent to make film with any hero irrespective of language he had that command. Entire film industries in India would be in his hand if he had taken film making more seriously. He switched to biopics 😕 that’s where the downfall began

I remember watching bahubali 1 fdfs in Telugu. I felt very bad for ss rajamouli because I didn't like it. Again on the second day I went with my family because I had already booked it. But this time I liked the film. When I introspect then I have understood that my watching experience is greatly affected by the theatre in which I watched the film. The first time I watched it in a local theatre with no proper sound and screen but the second time I watched the film in multiplex.

Really enjoyed and agreed to your words starting 4:53 . Adding after watching until 11:03 (where ramu analyses languages and listening to you),Until recently our regional languages (telugu, punjabi, kannada etc) had to compete with english and hindi movies also locally .like in Chandigarh ,a Punjabi filmmaker wuld have to comepte with Punjabi films, hindi and english films as well. but now the competition has reversed , the regional movies are coming to traditional hindi markets and competing with them

In Telugu director Vittalacharya who made movies in 50’s and 60’s with dinosaurs and I still love to watch those periodic films with dinosaurs in it. We also have a director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao who made a movies that are land marks to any Telugu director. Rajmouli is not there yet to reach that level, may be some day he will..

yes bro..many people think that SSR brought limelight to Tollywood but actual thing is he brought back limelight again which was lost in middle..during 1950-1980 Tollywood achieved greater heights which any Indian film industry dreamt of..the correct line is he brought limelight again..

its interesting if you combine both telugu and tamil highest grossing films its more or close to 600cr from 2 states, but for entire Hindi belt its 600 crs this means the theater experience, awareness and their interest needs to be looked at if this can improve we may see 2000cr film in India. than we can compete with china and Hollywood
