    GOAT...he thrived in an era where rapping in English was stigmatized and frowned upon but managed to open gates for lot of dope emcees to rap in English and be accepted equally as vernacular rappers.🙌🙌🙌

      Uh huh actually vernacular rap came way after English rap. English rap in SA goes back to the late 90s when ago Amu started out, in the 2000s it was ago Mr Selwyn. Vernac rap was popular in like 2008 or something

      @@Kusanagi7618 bru, vernacular was popular in the late 90s with the likes of Zola, prokid, HHP, Skwatta kamp, tuks , slovas, motswako, etc. English rap took hold in the culture earlier, but was not mainstream early on. Hip hop became mainsteam with vernacular, but started bubbling in the streets with mostly english. When we made it ours, with our language, then then the mainstream started resonating with it

    2006 June 16 New town square, from then been a fan. remember watching you perform this song live then threw that freestyle cause you were that ill, the best lyricist to come out of SA, you can go toe to toe with the gaints in the US. I believe in you...

    I had this CD , my first SA rapper I paid money for ...Pro is sick and yet so humble.
    he has no Idea what position he's holding ...way ahead of his time accept for HHP

    proverb is the most loyal hiphop soldier in Africa he talks about the genre in most of his songs and he does core hiphop rap he stays true to the game.One of the best and greastest lyricist/poets Africa has now.
