Yes Dorian, try Dorian bebop too
Dorian or D pentatonic minor. Do a mixture of the two. Highlight the 7th once in awhile to let everyone know it's Dorian... even when in pentatonic.

Both of them cuz c has a D dorian and F has a D eolian so, both are ok
