Dilla was a big fan of reversing samples, and the Bomb Squad with Public Enemy in the late 80s. But I guess all of us owe a lot to Dilla and the Bomb Squad. Even people who don't realise they have been influenced by them, have. After 3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul (and suddenly lawsuits left, right and centre), we all had to do things to hide our samples. Reversing was one of the ways.
This is something I've been doing for the past year or so. With every sample this allows you to get a second chance at finding good chops if the regular way didn't give you much. Super underrated imo i'm glad you covered it

Sounds Great Ryan. My workflow changes constantly. A lot of my beats constantly change fwd, rev, etc, cause I like short attention getters as opposed to constant repeating loops. But repeating loops have a place. I'm definitely not like the norm. ✌

Yo, the beat is fire. And can definitely stand as is. However, I think a dope drum fill to bridge the intro into the verse would really help that energy drop harder.
Can you do a Madlib or the alchemist producer tutorial, I’d like to see what techniques you have picked up from them. Or you could also do a whole video about dj dahis techniques, I haven’t been able to find many tutorials about dj Dahi

This is dope for a chorus but not continued over and over on repeat 1 to repetitive, 2 no space for the rapper. If this was My Id have 12 bars with the vocal Ahhh removed some ear candy, 2 bars take away the beat and 1 bar with the Ahhh, 3 bars beat back in. Somthing like that.
I'm sorry but I just don't understand where the STANK FACE is coming from. As a musician, I do get that there are those who see, feel and hear things differently. But after listen to this entire video......I am an not hearing music. He is very sound technically but I can't say musically I am with his idea here.

That sample was hard before you reversed it. Add some knocking drums and you would have a Just Blaze type vibe.
