So sad their home is getting destroyed though... By us... Our only hope of preserving them is to welcome them into human society as full fledged citizens.
@Fungo Slungo ooohhh edgy
@Fungo SlungoThis is just my long winded opinion, but here goes nothing: As the planets most advanced creatures we are above competition. All of this planet's creatures are "inferior" to us, so are we to exterminate them all? No, because then we would die as well, hence why we are stewards of the earth. For us to take the habitats of others which are necessary for their survival would be like a sumo wrestler taking candy from a starving baby (depending on the situation of course). Aside from being inconsiderate, it is something that would lead to our own demise. We need a diverse ecosystem for our own survival. We are a link in a chain, part of a system. To be acting like we are separate would be to act like cancer. get it? Becoming like cancer and consuming the "greater organism" we are a part of eventually leads only one place: to our own collective demise. It's not just sad because of the monkey's fate, it's sad because those are the principles of sickness, greed, disharmony, selfishness, poverty, and self destruction.
I really do believe that we will live in better harmony with our world as we become more advanced. We will find better ways to share space with plants and animals. We will figure out how to build farms, cities, and transportation networks without disturbing the forests, lakes, bogs, plains or ect. Slashing and burning down jungles to grow food will be a thing of the past as we find a way to use land without destroying it.
If we can't do that we are in danger of running out of wilderness or food. I mean, we already have ecosystem and food problems, even though it might not effect us in our parts of the world. The only reason humans are powerful is because we innovate. If we don't continue to do that we will not continue to prosper.
@Fungo Slungo And how do farms grow food you might ask? With phosphorus and healthy soil. You want to cut down all the wilderness and make farms? The nutrients necessary to grow plants will be depleted within a *single* generation. Running the world like you are describing would cause the large majority of the planet's population to die of starvation in just a couple hundred years.
@Fungo Slungo And at the rate we are going we will be completely out of phosphorus in 80 years
Humans: hey look, a new Orangutan..

I’ve been through this area before. The western slope of the Toba Highlands. Last time was cycling from Subulussalam to Sidikalang back in 2011. There was still a lot of jungle on either side of the road, but I saw two helicopters carrying what looked like prospecting equipment into the jungles south of Kedabuhan Falls that day. It’s not a major leap to think that whatever their mission, it would probably result in further loss of this island’s beautiful forests. That was a scary feeling watching them fly off into the distance.
Man that's amazing
That’s just a new skin because they weren’t in zoos the whole time and actually got to level up
Hey Eren are you here because you mistake the orangutan for Monkey Titan?
For every tree cut down, there should be many cuttings that replace it. Logging can be sustainable if done responsibly, trees are a finite resource and a pillar to nature, a pillar that supports many lives including our own. We should be able to get trees without harming native populations of creatures.
With such a simple solution you would think that’s already a thing.
Or we could instead dedicate certain areas for tree farming with sustainable species such as bamboo(I'm aware that's it's a grass) and others, and leave the trees in the wild alone. Or even better! We could do what I suggested but for every dedicated plant cut down, plant a few more wild trees in the forests with some profits or not for profits! Now that literally screams sustainability! Sorry if I sounded like I was undermining yours, just putting out more suggestions you know? Just saying that sometimes in developing/underdeveloped nations sustainability tends to be shoved down into the trunk of the car, you know what I mean?
@@sairajmenon556 I couldn’t agree more! There are so many sustainable ways but nothing is being done.
@@kenjiro2676 And I couldn't agree more with you either!
Trees are infinite as they can be planted and regrown. They are already planting trees after cutting them down bud
You can't so quickly replace what is cut down with a few of the same... The older tree itself is home and host to a bunch of organisms that provide benefit to the forest.
