If this is your first HP printer, you'll need to enable wifi direct setup. To do this you will have to attach your printer via the USB cable it comes with to a laptop or device that is already connected to your wifi. Make sure you follow the same steps to download the app. That's what worked for me anyways
Also, if you hold down the cancel button for 3 seconds, this will print a configuration report which give all your printer info

how do you connect to a new wifi? I have a new wifi, but I can't seem to connect my printer to the new wifi
@Ian Abellana you need to click on the old WIFI network select forget it and search for the new WiFi network to add the network password details
this video help a lot, but when you restart the printer the next day do you have to do the set up again?
If you set up your printer once it is switched on you don't need to do the setting again. If you switch on your printer in the environment the same WiFi network it will pick up your connection automatically from my smart phone app or computer

Hi there in on an android and it didn't ask for a password. My phone finds the printer but then disconnects my android. Please help thank you
@Ellie did you down HP smart app on your Android, I am using android phone but you need to go to google play and download HP smart app on your android then search and add available printer . If you find your printer then you type in the your WIFI password to connect the printer to WIFI network. It also allow Bluetooth on during the connection.

unless your printer is not wireless then use USB cable to connect your printer , you can also use USB Cable to connect then remove it when you establish wireless connection

@John Ogbonmwan you need internet password (Wifi or wireless password or broadband pass word) to be able to connect the printer or you use USB cable which require no password before you can print with the printer

@John Ogbonmwan I am not sure if there is Wifi network in Benin city. You need usb cable to connect your printer to pc or if you want to use your mobile you need on the go cable(OTG) to connect the printer and your mobile phone
