Good call with the camera shake during Earthbending scenes. Without the shake it makes it feel like the camera is just floating in space unaffected by the force of Earthbending. I think the camera should shake when there's Airbending, as well. It would go a long way to adding the depth of immersion into the world.

I thought I was hyped before but this promo just blew me away! I know dang well I’m going to cry during the loss of the air nomads. Cause, from the animated series they were ambushed so that makes it even sadder. The action scenes look epic! I’m so ready, we are so close!
I feel so sorry for people who are so determined to hate on this show before it's release. Some "fans" only focus on what's negative. I'm not saying we have to accept anything just because the live action movie is garbage and automatically anything else would already be better. But this show doesn't look like just another adaptation. It looks like a perfect anime to live action translation. We should be celebrating the representativity, the faithful looks and visuals, the beautifully choreographed kung fu fight scenes, the awesome soundtrack, the love the cast seem to have for the source material and the hard work they're putting in the scenes. Instead of nitpicking on anything the creators said they changed from the original. Wait for the show to come out before shitting on something you haven't even seen. The show has to appeal to a general audience not just us and not everything in a cartoon nor anime will work perfectly on a live action show or movie. So the directors, writers and producers have to choose what to bring life to and what to ignore. It might not be better than the original, it might not be everything we want from it. But you can't say it doesn't look like a great series. Even if it's not as faithful as most of us expect, it doesn't destroy the original. We can still watch our Avatar. But just because you don't like it it doesn't mean other people have to hate it. I'm tired of idiots who think they can predict the future and waste time pushing this agenda that it's going to suck when every trailer is literally proving them wrong. FUCK THESE PEOPLE! Stream the show when it comes out and form your own opinion. Don't let others tell you what you should enjoy or not.

You were right in the one reference, only older air Nomads or ones declared as bending masters had the iconic Tattoos, because all air nomads usually got their own tattoos at age 16 or older , but that’s why some survivors of the air temple siege in the original version escaped the temple’s only because of the older ones defended the temples and as my deceased friend theorized that that’s how in series 2 LoK that’s why some people got air-Bending thanks to recessed Genetic heritage and the harmonic convergence aftermaths side effects noted in original canon notes…so I just thought I’d just throw that out….!??
Low key, I wish this series was about Kyoshi. Only avatar actively in a gang. Her mother was an airbinder but didnt care to be a monk. She was robbing people with her husband. The fans come from Kyoshi mom needed help with her bending when she fell out of balance. She tattooed cobras over her air bending tattoos. This would be a gem to watch.
I noticed the no screen shake for earth bending too, hopefully the sound effects somewhat make up for it. Funny that at 6:00 right after you mention it there is screen shake from tiny air bending

I think maybe the guy hit by water is maybe the old man in the forest when Jet attacks him? Maybe they changed something and thats why Katara was there at that moment as well or sumt. 😊
Loving all of your commentary! I’m super excited for this! The one thing I’m worried about is that the air bending will be too slow when moving people. When it comes to Aang moving himself with air bending (during the battle with Bumi), you can painfully tell he is on a rig and being moved. It’s just too slow. I wish they would speed up those specific shots just a tad to make it seem like he is moving quickly.

Not the part of him back jumping over the huge rock - that part looks good 👍🏼 The part of him floating to his side to evade a smaller rock looks so slow. That’s the only part that worries me that some of the full body air bending moves could pull people out of being immersed in the show. I really do hope I’m wrong 🤞🏼
What I'm really hoping for is that the "change to the avatar state" they said they would be doing makes it in a way you get more connected to specific previous avatars. Like it would take over for Aang much like Roku did at the temple or kyochi did when convicted of murder. So instead of receiving the power of all previous avatars, he could get specific avatars taking over. And through being a more balanced avatar he would be able to switch between powers easier for the finale or something. Would give a lot more backstory to all the previous avatars at least!
I LOVE THE IDEA OF ZUKO WRITING IN DIARY/JOURNAL! Considering that is how he learns the truth of Sozen & Roku relationship. This will play out how Zuko writes the history for the Fire Nation.
