Love, love, love your work and the way you explain your process! Thank you for all the time and energy you put into these videos; you have become my favourite artist to watch. I am learning so much from you!
great painting strong scomposition!..I love those monterey cypress!... soo expressive!!..I wish you had more of the green foliage in mass..some larger masses on the left would imho give the cypress more strength....also on the right the branch extends more in the photo giving the tree a nice movement of form..does that makes sense.?
The "bullet points" of your main rationale on the approach are so well articulated. A masterful presentation. Truly. I'm going straight to Patreon. Overdue for sure! Cheers.
Micheal…really great advice on painting trees! I like the idea of first focusing on the trunk and branches. I think that wil help me and I am going to give it a try. Thanks. Cheers-Greg
When starting out I used to fear painting trees with worrying did I get the shape right. I think alot of artists starting out feel that. This video is a good confidence boost for those. 🎨👍
More trees please but first, a back story: A personal favorite is a landscape/ tree painting M. Chamberlain whipped up at Skyline? Naturally, this piece landed a 1st place ribbon.
Did you let the dark underpainting dry before you laid the green on top. If not ..how did you keep them from mixing in and staying on top. Thank you for sharing. It's a great painting.
Greetings from Mariposa CA! Trees are becoming my favorite thing to paint, excellent painting btw. I really loved that bakersfield painting too. The central valley can be really beautiful. Yosemite is opening soon it would awesome to see you do a painting up here! I would love to paint with you someday!
Yes! i follow you on insta my handle is john_addison_cox, i would honestly love to meet up and paint with you. hit me up if you're ever coming this way. also i know of some really beautiful spots to camp for free!
what size brush do you use to sketch with the thinned out burnt sidnna? I’ve been using a #6 filbert and think maybe that’s too much for the initial sketch.
How do you decide what you want to paint? I feel like every time I paint something it just doesn’t come out the way I had hoped and it might be because of the scenery I choose.
Hi, you mentioned that you prefer canvas with a little more "tooth" for painting loose. can you put more words to that and maybe suggest a brand or... Thanks. Love your work.
goodness gracious, that original picture, and your burnt cienna sketch, so captivating and sexy, the most fun and prettiest lines and composition Ive seen
As a mediocre painter who simply does art for fun, I find these vids really helpful and enjoyable so thank you
No one is a mediocre. Practice makes you better.
I wonder if you could make this a series? I always struggle with big patches of grass/fields, giving something so monotone some energy
Your drawing skill rocks!!
Thanks!
i don’t paint or do any kind of artwork because i’m not good, but i really enjoy your videos :)
I'm glad you enjoy my videos 😊
I like your style.. simple not overdone, but very effective.
Thanks, Paul!

I've been needing this. I try to avoid greenery because it gets muddy very easy but next time I'll approach it with more confidence.

Good video. What are you thoughts on artists using photos, they take themselves, to create paintings?
Thanks. I have no problem with painting from photos. I prefer to paint on location but I still paint from photos occasionally
@@chamberlainpaintings I watched your video on painting painting waves where you address this point. Thank you.
Love the tree . What color is the trunk.?

Usually a 2 or 4 flat
