I don't have to go anywhere, they fly over my house all the time! Their base is to the north-east of me so whenever they're going to show off in the southern half of the country or Wales, they fly over en route. I did see them do a display back in 2008 - I went to a small party in the Mall when the city of Beijing handed the Olympic flag over to London. When I say "small" I mean there were about 25,000 people, maybe more, outside Buckingham Palace watching big screens showing the Beijing closing ceremony, followed by a live concert and the Red Arrows swooped down the Mall and over the Palace. Whoosh!
The last tour they did of the US and Canada was in 2019, which this clip was part of. The last show of that tour was at Huntington Beach CA. The tour before that was, I think, about 2008.

Quite amused that you, an American, have never been to New York, and I, an Englishman, spent a week there a few years ago (Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there!)
I have seen them quite a few times. At my old work place, high on a hill you could see the display they did for the Fairford Airshow and it was amazing. You could see all sorts of planes over the course of the weekend but the red arrows were always the best. They sometimes fly over where I live after doing a display too.
I see them every year for the Bournemouth Air festival, the Red Arrows and the Typhoon are the daily highlights of the show which usually runs for 4 days. Seeing them fly from standing on the beach with my kids is awesome .
Seen the red arrows many times both at airshows & when they fly over my house to one of the local airports they use for a nearby show. Always a wonderful sight.
I live 30 miles away from RAF Waddington the home of the red arrows since 2000. They occasionally fly over. To see them flying in such close formation is always an amazing site
They come to Jersey, Brtish Channel Islands, every year but they trick us when they arrive, you never know which direction they come from however I have seen them twice in the same day. Guernsey our sister island gets them first and i was travelling from Gatwick to Jersey which goes over Guernsey and our BA Pilot did a loop over Guernsey until they finished so we all saw it all from above. How cool is that. Then saw them later in the day in Jersey,
I live in Hastings and the Eastbourne air show usually has the red arrows do a fly by for the event. Due to the distance required for the planes to turn around if you stand on the pier you can see them all pass by and get some fantastic pictures with next to no crowds. Great display of talent all round.
What an amazing experience that must be! I can only imagine the views you see with not many people around, a huge bonus to be away from the crowds and take it all in.
Good to see the Red Arrows over New York ..I live close to their base in Lincolnshire, England ...I watch them practice most days from my living room window ....how lucky I am !! 😃
me me me, it's always a pleasure to see the Red Arrows, thank you. They and their for-runners the Black Arrows (flying Hunter jets) set the world standard back in the 1950's and 60's. The close passes are really scary to see live... I've seen them at RAF Biggin Hill, the most famous Battle of Britain fighter station, at Monte Carlo and at Fowey (pronounced Foy like toy). At Fowey was the most impressive as they flew inside the harbour at near mast head height. Standing on the overlooking cliffs we where looking down on the planes ! It was a full 10 minutes before any seagull dared fly after that ... Later that day the pilots came to Fowey to see the regatta and carnival. I wasn't able to speak with them as they were surrounded by admiring women.
This old man has seen a few display teams, as he went to airshows a lot as a boy and teen, so: Red Arrows (in Folland Gnats, and BAE Hawks), the Patrouille de France (in Fouga Magisters and Alpha Jets), the Frecce Tricolori (in FIAT G.91PANs), the Belgian Air Force 'Slivers' (who then used F104 Starfighters) the Royal Navy 'Card Four' (in Hawker Seahawks), and the RAF Training Command's team 'the Red Pelicans' (using Hunting Jet Provosts). More recently a team from the middle East, from Jordan I believe, who were at a RNAS Yeovilton show.
That would be an experience! I actually looked for a schedule to see if they were around me any time soon. I've seen our version of the Blue Angels a few times and are always a blast. Would love to see the Red Arrows now :)

I've been lucky enough to have travelled a lot of the world and US included. The thunderbirds are an amazing experience and whilst my heart is with the red arrows there's real no distinction between the two. Bot are amazing
Having been lucky enough to watch all three teams' displays. The Blue Angels (6 F18s) and Thunderbirds (6F16) due to being smaller and using frontline aeroplanes have very different displays from the Reds (9 Hawks) who are flying an advanced trainer. The Blues and the Thunderbirds have a much louder and faster display with some amazing close formations and passes, while the Red's display is more about numerous seamless formations changes involving all 9 aircraft while performing aerobatic moves until the synchro pair break off and for their spectacular mini-show before reforming back with the rest of the team for the final section of the display. I really enjoy the noise and drama of the US display teams, but (I'm a Brit and biased ) I do think the Reds display offers a more engaging show for normal people who don't turn into a giddy five-year-old boy when a formation of loud fast aeroplanes I don't often see at home start showing off!
That's incredible! I would very much like to watch the differences between all of the displays from these teams. I've only seen The Blue Angels before and they were spectacular. Can't imagine the others!
I am lucky to have seen each of those teams, and the Blue Angels, they do fly differently, but expertly. So good to compare. Also, saw The Intrepid (on the Hudson) below that flypast, and that really is worth the visit if in New York, beats shopping any day.

As good as our Red Arrow Pilots are, they , like all our armed services are not served well. You would have noticed the dire state of our Armed Forces.
