    I want the next NASCAR game to a more in-depth career mode. One thing I’ll give the Heat games credit for was that if you wanted, you could start up your own team immediately and do a true rags to riches story. I know this is highly unlikely, but my ideal career mode for a NASCAR game would be you start off as a local racer, either dirt or super late models, get discovered by an ARCA team, do a part-time season with them at first, get the option to go full-time or explore other options, and so on. You would truly work your way up the NASCAR ladder and even form friendships and rivalries with other drivers who would go up to Cup with you. Yes, I think NASCAR games should have driver retirements. But that’s not even the end of it, no! You get the option to sign a developmental deal with a manufacture of your choosing, and eventually if you ever do start a team, you get to sign drivers to race for you!

    If 2K did make a NASCAR Game, I would see some quality life changes like Driver transfers, Driver stats, injurys if it's a serious crash, drivers retiring, make your own team with your own drivers, being able to swap drivers and team orders (Like Nascar 06) and have every car generation.
    The 3 modes I would see is MyDriver it's basically an in-depth Career mode. (Press conference, interviews before/after the race, new cutscenes of your driver walking back to the hauler and new cutscenes in victory lane)
    MyAssociation will allow you to manage any team (like SHR, WBR or all of the teams) or import any team that you created and managed anything like Driver lineup, training, upgrading the car, scouting drivers etc. You could even make your own seasons dating back to the 90s and early 2000s. Or you could sim through the whole season and see what the Ai will do (that idea is from NBA 2K sims)
    Last but not least MyTeam, how it would work is you have 4 drivers and so does your rival (who'll be highlighted in red) and your task is to finish the race higher than your opponent in an amount of laps (Pick either 5,10, 15 etc.). In this mode, you can collect drivers (like Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon etc.) With there own rarity, era/year. I'm unsure if I should make cars collectibles so you decide.
    That's about all my brain could take. If you're reading this, have a good day

    depending on when the contract was canceled, a new game is probably 3-4 years away. it takes a lot of time to build a modern game, especially from scratch. that's another big thing, in the era of Thunder, PS2 games were much cheaper to make, so they took a lot less investment.

    • @MartyTuro
      @MartyTuro 11 месяцев назад +1

    • @Gravijahz
      @Gravijahz 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@MartyTuro There's a reason you don't see many ground up sports games anymore. They're not any easier to make than other games, and most of the series left are already established titles which are able to iterate changes each year.
      The tracks and such already existing in real life only helps so much, they still have to model them all and recreate them in game, which can be harder than making a fictional track. They also have to create new physics engines and everything else. Forza is a good example of attempting to make a ground up racing game, with the newest Forza Turn 10 wanted to essentially recreate the game from the ground up and it has taken a while. And in terms of sports stuff, EAs NCAA game keeps getting delayed by years because all of the old work on the old NCAA game is essentially useless and everything needs to be redone.

    The Thunder series had something else going for it that I feel like a lot of people don't think about. Those games came out before DLC was a thing so devs released complete games at launch. I could put NASCAR Thunder 2004 in my PS2 right now and it would be the same game today that it was on September 16th, 2003. I'm not a software engineer by any means but I would imagine it's much easier to fix bugs in a project while you're still working on it in-house rather than launching it and trying to fix it later remotely with downloadable patches. It may make me sound a little old but no one releases a complete game anymore.

    I can't believe that I'm gonna say this but I hope EA gets another crack at the NASCAR license. Only because EA bought Codemasters and they haven't made many crappy racing games, and those crappy games we're still pretty good compared to the trash MSG has been shoveling out.
    Ideally I'd like a NASCAR game with the "feel" of a Codemasters title, but with all the features and game modes of the old PS2 era EA NASCAR games.
    Maybe they could finally fix my pet peeve I've had with NASCAR games since Thunder 2004 : I want rookie stripes on my back bumper for my 1st season In each series! Lol, that always bugged me about the games from 2005 onward.

      iRacing owns Motorsport Games. Personally, I’d like to see something similar to NR2003 for PC. Have things like the ability to design and edit tracks, an opponent manager where we upload schemes and create the field of drivers. Also have it to where it can include multiple mods and the community can make them as well.
      They could do the console version then where you have paint scheme packs or track packs for the micro transactions (since we know game studios love to do that these days).
      Papyrus actually did have a console version. NASCAR Racing 2 was reworked into NASCAR Racing on the original PlayStation. So they have some experience with that.

If there's any doubt about NASCAR Arcade Rush, I'd say give it a try and go from there. I'd be happy if Monster Games and 2K would take a stab at the NASCAR games and see who makes the better game. Monster Games knocked it out of the park with World Of Outlaws Dirt Racing and the recent update they added, its like a new game. To end it off, Motorsports Games rest in piss you won't be missed.😂

They secured the exclusive rights to Nascar gaming for years, milking all the profit for themselves and leaving gamers with their terrible products to rot. Regardless of the outcome, they win, and considering Indycar is still eager to continue with them, they will still be around for a while. Very pleased with MSG leaving Nascar for good but the time lost with such a shitty developer is NEVER coming back. Time to move on, I guess (?)

    The whole situation is a shame, really.
    Technically, there was a capable engine to be used, but kind of outsourcing it to a different development team(704 Games at Charlotte) who had little to no experience with it was already a bad idea.
    Sad, because after all, the Stock Cars on rF2 are actually nice to drive. But they were also made by people familiar with the simulation.
    Oh well, I wish all the best to Nascar as a franchise to be licensed to any sim, may it be a decent game.

    The EA exclusivity killed both PC simulators and console NASCAR gaming...on the PC side we had papyrus/sierra, stormfront and monster putting out absolute bangers every year....after the EA deal...we got exactly 1 title...that EA dropped support and shut down servers for after a year. Really hope this leads to some good sims that give us an alternative to iRacing.
