Adam struck out on the Agua Fria National Monument to help show you the basics of establishing a camp site in a primitive or undeveloped camping location. Adjacent to rapidly expanding communities, the 71,000-acre Agua Fria National Monument is approximately 40 miles north of central Phoenix. Is there one place to find all of the dispersed camping rules? Some places it just says not over 14 days, other places say more than 200 feet from a trailhead, another places says 200 feet from a water source but no mention of trailheads. It is super confusing. I even called a wilderness office and they had to google it, and still only found partial rules.
