scarpfish I wish that made me feel old. 😂 What makes _me_ really feel old is remembering the first movie I ever saw in a theater. That movie was the first Muppet movie, aptly called “The Muppet Movie”, which came out in theaters in 1979, when I was 7 years old. 😱

Indeed. I remember watching this show in reruns on Canadian TV when I was about 12. I'm in my mid-30s now. Hopefully the references haven't aged THAT poorly.
I was 9 when Win Ben Stein’s Money debuted on Comedy Central. I’m 36 married with two fur babies and I’m a bill collector.. game shows are heaven for me.
My god, Comedy Central had such a great, unique lineup of shows. Now it's nothing but South Park 24 hours a day. It's tragic what they've done to that channel.
I used to watch this show religiously...the writers were brilliant and Jimmy Kimmel was obviously one of the quickest, brightest new talents on the block. He and those "categories" made this show.

"Mythic Hindu god?" The bias was showing on that one, and it had nothing to do with fabric. The Hindu gods are just as believable (as in, not at all) as any other religion's imaginary friends. I wonder if they'd ever refer to Moses or Jesus as "mythical".
This airing is probably from May 2000 as the third commercial break references SUnday June, 4 and June 4 was a Sunday in 2000. Nancy Pimental took over as co-host for JImmy Kimmel starting with the 9/11/2000 first-run episode.
Mario Escalante Kimmel isn’t as funny as Ben Stein. This show was so creative and funny. Kimmel just does politics every night... ho hum. We can get that anywhere. He sux.
Titus McCarthy Ben Stein was funnier. I loved this show. Kümmel isn’t funny to me. He was also the ugliest young man I had ever seen. Still is but he’s not young.
WOW I remember watching this at home when I was 12 pretending to be sick in between playing super nintendo hahaha Damn I was a sophisticated kid Also it's cool to see Jimmy Kimmel.being his genuine self without all the liberal politics stuff
It's not Ben Stein's money, it's the producer's money. If anything he's defending his share of what will be his after filming concludes, but beyond that it's not his money and never was. It usually became his money though considering a winner on this show was a rare thing, and for such a small amount of money too.
voteZDLR well no, and yes. I did finally read how it was handled. The money lost during the show (whether the whole 5 grand or what ever the finalist got) was deducted from Ben's salary for that episode.
Correct, it does tell you this in the credits of each episode so it's not such a big secret just anyway but yeah basically if it IS "Ben Stein's Money" it's the money given to him by the producer. So it WAS the producer's money put in the pool for each episode for Ben and he'd only lose a portion of it after the conclusion of each taping -- only occasionally having to give it all up to someone who wins -- a rare thing when it comes to the show, unfortunately. So I guess that means he was making at least $3000 on average each taping usually. Most likely. It also helps because it literally gives him an incentive to want to "defend" his money in a more legitimate way (versus having nothing to lose at all).
You know you're getting old when you're looking back nostalgically at a turn of the millenium game show.

Thanks for including the ad breaks, part of the fun is laughing at just how fucking stupid the commercials were.
Love this show! Remember watching it when it first aired! 90’s Comedy Central was fantastic! God I wish I could go back in time!

Yeah what a mess of trouble.
@@bradyanderson6311 Sad.
Not just South Park, but The Office too.
Nothing against South Park or the Office but we need more shows like this back on Comedy Central.
It was actually a bucket of " warm piss".
omg thank you for leaving the commercials in lol

Those commercials brought back more nostalgia than the actual show, thanks for including them!
'And, who said water couldn't be pretty colors.' That crystal light commercial killed me lol
What a great show! I love these reruns. The whole format of the game was spectacular.

Ben could be funny as well when he wasn't taking everything so damned seriously.
Before he became nauseatingly left.
I love how they do the sound effects for when Ben takes the contestants’ money back after the end of the first two rounds
I remember watching this as a kid.

Yeah, I remember watching as a 35 year old kid too.
This was Win Beadle's Money in the UK
Crikey. You Brits always gotta change it up.
What's beautiful about this show and just 90s stuff in general is that for the first 5 minutes I didn't realize that I had been smiling the whole time
This is an episode of Win Ben Stein's Money aired in May 2000 and the players are Joe, Shira, & John.

Clear as a bell. Ben was genuinely in his element here, and she had just the excuse to throw him off his high horse lol
