So I've noticed that when you make a monster/creature with scales, that you tend to put them on one by one. This is a trick I learned a while ago, take a log of clay (small/medium) in size, and poke a lot of holes in one or both ends to create a lizard/dinosaur texture stamp, it really helps speed up process. Hope this helps, keep making awesome creations fellow sculptor!
I made myself one of those recently as well (thanks to remembering North of the Border showed that), and it's fun to use XD Though because Jack's creations are so large, it would likely be tough to do that for larger scales, unless you wanna waste a lot of clay to make a stamp large enough. That and something tells me he might actually enjoy doing the detail by hand XD But yeah, a fun and convenient trick! And if you can get the right tool, you can make similar stamps for fish and snake scales as well :3
Your sculptures are so incredible, this one in particular reminded me of an ice cube. Some sculpture in this style would be interesting, like a character cowering in an ice cube in a freezing setting

I'm a bit of a novice with sculpting and all, yet I decided to make my own creature thing with a cat head... but I was really struggling with doing it myself, until I found this. So I referenced the video to get a working setup for mine, and though it's not perfect, it still looks pretty awesome (though I'm not yet finished mine). Long story short, thank you for this video, and for indirectly helping me with my own creation~!
I love how this sculpture has green eyes instead of yellow eyes! Cats have stereotypes like cats can only have yellow eyes. Do you think you could do a zombie cat if you haven’t already?
Gorgeous! But you should really think about the vacuum pump I think. And if I were you (if I was somebody who can sculpt as amazing as you do), I would make such a sculpture with resin transparent glossy eyes.
Have you ever thought about selling prints of the sketches you do for these? I would honestly love to have some of your art that you do at the beginning of the video, especially that ghost shark in a cemetery from last video. Stunning work as always!
