I do quilting and I developed carpral tunnel and had to have an operation . It helped a little but I still have a tingle in my wrist. Like you I had to slow down with my stitching.
You are doing the right thing with resting your hands. I didn’t heed the pain and ended up not being able to knit or crochet. I had to see the doctor and get shots in my thumb and wrist which was no fun.😢I have healed overtime but still have to be careful . Moderation is the name of the game if we want to continue for us senior citizens. Sheila your work is beautiful.
Yes, give your hands, wrists a break once in awhile. Your work is lovely and so professional....thanks for all the extra hours you put in making the tutorials and videos.
Hello Sheila, Thank you for posting the patterns to me, another few projects for the winter months to do 😊 Hope you are taking little breaks & rest you hands, I have arthritis in my early 30 yrs in all my joints I have arthritis in my wrists/hands, I use hand/wrist splints & also compression gloves which help me with my pain in my hands/ fingers & medication/ rest & a cup tea too (knitting/crochet) but at night I rub hand cream put my gloves on. In the morning I massage my fingers hands & wrists, sometimes my hand/fingers go numb (As I have carpel tunnel syndrome) Take care see you in the another video especially with a rant in it 😊🤣❤️
Try this: do a lot of dishes in really hot soapy water. Put your hands in your dishpan and stretch your fingers out. Just let your hands sit in the hot water. Use a dishrag to work your stretching out. I also am a crochet person, but I worked all my life as a typist. How I found this out was when I would go to my brother-in-law’s house, he used to always give big family parties…guess who always got stuck doing the dishes? ME! After doing the dishes my hands felt so good and then I figured out why…it was the hot water!❤
Morning , Shelia , Wool wall is colorful! I also don’t mind the other scenery- seeing Elvis ! Lol !! I’m sorry about your wrist . Actually I am a “ thrower” too. It also hurts my shoulder after awhile. Oh! The baby cardigan is adorable ! Love the red sweater you are wearing . Glad you will buy a settee .. it should be more comfortable on your back .. Have a good day ! ❤ xx
Hi Sheila, you were saying the other day about the difficulty in working with black wool. I remember hearing about a tip a long time ago (which I've tried), where if you put a plain white cloth across your knee, say a tea towel or something similar, it gives you a bright background and enables the stitches to be seen much more clearly when counting also making it easier on the eyes. Thought this might be helpful. 😊
I'm a thrower as well and I get that same problem in my left wrist and especially the thumb, I tried a thumb brace but doesn't stop it and it's awkward knitting with it on. I also suffer with arthritis so maybe it's related, I've realized I must just take more breaks and try not to aggravate it. Your little cardigan is gorgeous.
Good video, repetetive motion tends to stress the body in any area. For arthritic fingers, my aunt had them and was able to keep them in place with gentle massaging. Just wanted to chime in about this video and the arthritis remedy. Happy knitting Sheila, I love your new sweater tutorial!
Hi Sheila, You poor love. I am not a thrower so don’t have the problem you have. My hands stay on needles and the object I am working on. But then I am left handed.(Don’t know whether that makes a difference). I have bought the needles you recommended love them. I never thought of them before. I wish you would buy yourself a nice comfortable chair for your workroom. You deserve that. Keep me laughing Sheila. xx 😄😄
There is an oil thing I've heard of you warm it up then put your hands in the warm oil it sounds good I will see if I can find what it called and let you know might help ❤
Hi Sheila, I have to be careful with my hands, as my Doc told me that by overusing my hands it could cause carpel tunnel. That could mean an operation l now take more breaks+ I'm not working into the early hours of the next day any more❤❤😅❤😂❤ 😊❤❤
Hello Sheila, your wool wall is lovely 🧶 🧶🧶 Remember to take some breaks, hope you are feeling fit as a lop! Congrats on the 2,000 views and 50 subscribers.👏I like your tutorials and it must be a lot of work to make. Take care 🇺🇲❤🇬🇧
Hi Sheila ☺️. I’m a new subscriber to all your channels. I’m a crocheter learning to knit, so I’m off to a one on one class next week to get some help with how to fix mistakes etc … knitting a scarf at the moment. Your knitting is beautiful, many blessings 🙏🏻 🧶🧶🧶. Ps .. do you recommend blocking? Watched lots of videos and they all differ on the blocking. Hope your hands feel better soon. Take care
Arthritis stops me from knitting after a few hours and sometimes I can’t knit every day. Take care Sheila, your knitting is so beautiful!

You do so many hours a day, Sheila. You are wise to take breaks and rest your hands. Take care. ❤

hi Sheila you can get hand warmers love the wool wall ❤
I do the same Sheila, it. Does hurt sometimes.
There is an oil thing I've heard of you warm it up then put your hands in the warm oil it sounds good I will see if I can find what it called and let you know might help ❤
Oh i didnt realise you needed a converter Sheila. Alot of behind the scenes work then.
yes Pam my videos would be a lot longer if i didn't edit them, probably too long people would get bored lol
Your health comes first I did miss you but happy you are feeling better Take care
Sometimes crochet is better for change
Try lever knitting. You keep your right hand on your needle. Taking your hand off your needle will give you arthritis.

i have never blocked anything in my life Gracie, never even heard of it till i came on RUclips
I hope you don’t mind me asking Sheila what pattern do you undo for the scarf. Lovely scarf you finished Dorothy😊
It was just stocking stitch Dorothy, i knit 2 stitches at the start of the purl row and at the end.🤗
Try using a wrist strap I have them, gives bit support
Keep your lounge receipt and see if you can claim it on tax as being for your business.
