  • Users sometimes want to add some APDL processing commands to an ANSYS Workbench Mechanical model that has already been solved. With a large model, it is helpful not to have to solve the entire model again in order to have some postprocessing APDL commands executed. This video illustrates adding APDL commands after solving, and seeing the results of those commands.

Can you give the temperature to the node? on the command ? Looking at your lecture, it seems like you can apply pressure to the node, but there is no temperature.

Hi and thanks for your questions.
As a load in Mechanical, no. In the Mechanical GUI temperature loads are applied as Thermal Conditions on bodies only, as a constant temperature across the body. To apply a temperature distribution (ie; a result from a steady state thermal or transient thermal that is contained in the same Workbench project), link the Solution cell from the Steady State Thermal or Transient Thermal to the Setup cell in the Static Structural in the Project Schematic in Workbench.
Temperature loads can be applied as body forces on elements via commands, not to nodes.

Is that right? Or, I think, what do you think about adopting giving the temperature according to each location from external data? I think it is the same as giving temperature to the node.@@SimuTechGroup

Is there any way to do APDL command in workbench in preprocessing instead then postprocessing?
    Thanks

Hi - Yes, APDL commands can be inserted in the environment branch (ie; Static Structural, in this case) in the Outline in Mechanical for loading or constraint purpose, or in the Geometry branch for altering material properties or in the Connections branch for altering contact or joint behavior.
