Great vid guys! Regards your “pre filter” - love it, reminds me of when I tried to buy a pre filter at my local 4wd shop and old mate said “I will not sell you an old sock”
Cheers for watching. Ya know what it’s not stupid if it works though hey and it actually did. Blew the air filter out a few times and every time basically nothing came out
Yeah there are plenty around bent hey it’s usually the ones with trays and Canopys with the big over hang that bend. Chassis brace is a must on them. Mick has all that done on his Navara
Really awesome episode, Dave! Most enjoyable with my morning coffee. Your campsites were truly amazing. That bush fix was some impressive on the ground engineering. Mexican beer in Australia, eh?!!! Thanks for sharing Buddy.
What a way to start the day mate. It’s awesome terrain up there wait till you see where we get to in the next two eps. Fabian is a clever bloke I was just his lacky on that fix and it got him all the way home. Don’t mine the of corona here and there. Thanks like always for watching
A mate bent his Triton in the Simpson it looked a lot worse than that Navara the chassis was actually broken part way through on one side and bent the other, it was fixed successfully and still on the road several years later .
Can’t frighten a Triton hey mate. That’s a good result if your mate didn’t want to loose his car that he had put all the work building into. Unfortunately for nato they scrapped his when he got home
Top video guys nothing better then a bit of bush fix it held on good haha. Bring on the next one already a week is to long haha. Really enjoying this series a lot. I can feel the pain of the duel cab coming away done the same thing in my Hilux where it was dragging on the road. Wouldn't mind knowing the songs you had played on this please
Absolute champion for the super thanks mate appreciate that. So much time goes into filming and editing it’s awesome you enjoy it. All the music is just off artlist mate I can get names if there is any in particular for you. Definitely put the cars to the limit doing these sort of trips especially towing
@@4x4brothersthe first song when you hit the pdr track and the last song when you guys crossing the bridge. No problems I can understand the time and effort you put in to please us viewers we all appreciate everything.
There is a welding company at Evan’s Landing (Weipa) that will straighten and weld doubler plates on the chassis. They charge around $ 1,000 to do it I believe they do around 60 duel cabs a year
We called up the mechanic in Weipa he quoted 6+ for the job so we kept an eye on the brace it held up till he got home then insurance scrapped it a few weeks ago. We saw a heap of bent dual cabs up there lots of rangers
It’s not written off but will cost a fair bit to fix it with an engineer report attached to it to keep insurance companies happy. I’ve done a few now all engineered and all legal and still insured
Not fit for purpose. Just watched a video last night of a bloke complaining that his auto Ranger gearbox was over heating towing the van. Have travelled into the outback with our Toyota manual gearbox towing the van. Not one complaint from it..
@@4x4brothers I always wonder when they talk about GVM upgrades how it affects things like the chassis or do they brace that as well? All good to make some bits more heavy duty but then you're just moving the increased load to somewhere else.
Yeah exactly right there are brace kits for the Navara mick put one in his when all the work went into it with the tray and canopy but your exactly right it just moves the problem down stream especially leaf spring vehicles with airbags
@@markharcourt2214 not sure if the airbags were the major cause or if it’s more so these Utes just ain’t built to withstand these conditions these days
Great moves Dave 😂😂. Catching up on your episodes.
😂😂 I definitely can’t dance that’s for sure 🕺🏼
Plenty now there for you to binge watch. Last one comes out tomorrow 👍
Loving the series! Good effort keeping the Nav going for now. Nothing like a bit of bush mechs and manipulation! Haha
Cheers for tuning in mate. Plenty more coming your way too.
Got creative with what we had and it worked 😂
Excellent episode guys, shame about the car, good work keeping him going.
What a great spot Pennyfather is.
Bit of a engineering marvel that brace haha
All around Weipa is magic hey. Rate that place very highly. Tele this week 🙌

Driving the M4 in Sydney every day, I reckon I've seen every make and model of ute with a bend. Usually work utes that you can see are overloaded.
