DUDE. I am a science PhD student getting into skincare for the first time and I just have to say, I AM SO GLAD I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL. There is so much misinformation about skincare out there and I'd been searching for something - ANYTHING - that could provide more skincare information based in science. Thank youuuuu
Hurray and welcome! That's the reason I started my blog in the first place - I was in the same position 10 years ago and I couldn't find anything that answered my questions 😅
I see it as such a missed opportunity for dermablend. They could have formulated their own sunscreen and tested the pigment drops only against that (versus making a pretty bold claim that you can mix the drops with any sunscreen). Then they could have sold both the sunscreen and drops. I definitely would have given it a shot!!!
Came here (many years later) to say the exact same thing. It would be so much easier to test (they could even do one mineral one chemical to broaden their market - but as mineral seems to be the worst for colour at least a mineral one) and they could still market that you can mix it with all the other stuff for those who don't want their sunscreen.
Dodgy of Dermablend to promote this, have other influencers promote this, and then not make a formal statement. We need brand transparency with something as serious as sunscreen.
Yeah, their response feels very scattered... I think it might be a combination of poor internal communication and not prioritising this, rather than straight up dodginess.
@@Walking_Spinel I'm aware. We don't know what's going on is the real issue here. It could be that they work or it could be that they don't. That's why we need the company, rather than people unaffiliated, to clarify the relation between these pigment drops and efficacy. I'm not sure what any of these influencers and dermatologists could say at this point.
@@Walking_Spinel yeah I hope they update about it because they promoted it quite strongly. In fact I was looking to get one then lockdown happened but glad I didn’t for now, we don’t really know the full story so let’s not jump any guns. But if it doesn’t work and people used it through their influence mixed in with their spf then that’s bad.
They're probably in the process of doing more testing, and don't really want to give a definitive answer right now. That's what their response about following FDA recommendations and "continuously research and innovate" or whatever sounds like to me. It probably worked with the original product they used, but then they realized or found out that it doesn't work with everything. From my personal experience, mixing alters the consistency of some sunscreens, which may interfere with the film forming agents. Very waterproof sunscreens don't seem to set up quite the same, and it seems to work the best when mixing into moisturizers w/spf. Even then, I I definitely wouldn't mix in more than 2 or 3 drops.
So happy to hear that EVY claims stand - it is the most amazing sunscreen I have ever tried, and although it's a nightmare to have them ship to Australia, EVY is totally worth the pain
What other products have you been wondering about? 🤔 Also I am not sponsored by Evy or Dermablend - I always clearly disclose brand sponsorships in the title and caption, and near the start of the video both verbally and in text on screen 😉
Hi Michelle ! Thank you for this video...i was actually really wondering about the Dermablend drops ! I have a question regarding mineral sunscreens (spf 50) ..is it possible for them to actually be trasparent ? There are few claims about this that for the first time they come up with a first transparent mineral sunscreen that would suit every skin color ! And honestly i think it's another marketing scam...
@@nirmalaanissa9439 I think it's possible - they'd have to use nanoparticles though, which a lot of people who are iffy about chemical sunscreens are also iffy about (even though they're pretty safe). Not sure what the UVA protection would be like with only very small particles though.
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Thank you 🙏🤗 I also do not get this whole demonizing of chemical sunscreens...living in EU i discovered so many great UVA filters that could really help for hyperpigmentation...it's so sad !😥
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience Do you think that in the near future, say the next decade, that there are going to be any new inorganic UV filters approved for use, or do you think that it's very unlikely?
Chiming with everyone else- i love Evy and am so happy to get some confirmation that the product is as good as i hoped. (Seriously- my favorite for hot summers under makeup)
@@daniela9488 Yeah definitely, I use the "body" spf 30-50 on my face and it doesn't aggravate my acne. If you use a moisturizer underneath it can be like applying two moisturizers, so you basically only need a little moisturizer or none at all! All depends on what you like. It's fantastic, and funny to apply hehe.
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience thanks for replying 🙏 and honestly I like that one the least. My favorite is the kids version, it has the most matte finish plus it’s the cheapest 😂
@@lynnharris6877 I bought mine through ifsogo. I had to buy a minimum of 6, but it's well worth it in my opinion as I'm still using them up many months later.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Evy Sunscreen was just pulled from the market in Norway. Because their 50 SPF sunscreen only had the effect of 15 SPF in an independent test.
I love EVY and have used them for years! Here's a couple of tips: - a golfball sized amount is enough for the face. warm it up in your hands before you apply it as it makes it a lot easier. - apply the mousse in two layers if you find it hard to blend out when using a golfball sized amount. - it can be reapplied over make up pretty easily if you pat it onto your face or use a beauty blender/sponge. - sometimes it makes my face feel sticky, sometimes not. 20 minutes after application I set it with a light layer of powder. - skincare can be used underneath the mousse but if you want to apply a moisturizer in the mornings you should put it on after the EVY mousse. It's perfect for my dry skin, even during the Swedish winters lol. Great video btw!
Bro I feel so lied to because I bought the Dermablend Pigment shits specifically because of the mixing claim. Only for Raw Tin Skin to release a video on why that claim is probably clownery. I hate it here.
I'm not familiar with Raw Tin Skin but it's interesting to see Dr. Dray commented on his video about this and linked the study Michelle also mentions here (that isn't actually about mixing or UV protection). To some extent I understand (sk)influencers aren't all going to be as critical (or awesome) as Michelle but I'm disappointed dermatologists wouldn't be a bit more suspicious. Sounds like Dermablend is/was acting pretty dodgy though
I first ordered the purito sunscreen right before that thing happened, which forced me to look for other options. And than I found Evy, AND I LOVE THEIR SUNSCREEN! I think it feels so much better than the purito sunscreen and evy is easier for me to get a hold of since I am a swede. To anyone who is looking for a new sunscreen I really recommend you to try evy! Note that it doesn't smell great because it is "non scented" but personally I can't even feel the sunscreen after it has dried so I can get over the "smell".
The Evy sunscreen sounds miraculous!! I hope more companies adopt such technology and make it available everywhere!! Suncreen is a nightmare!!!! I have skin cancer and dealing with suncreen has been worse than dealing with my tumor.
Excellent video Michelle! You just saved me 40 bucks!! I saw many influencers talking about about mixing the Dermablend drops with my sunscreen that I wanted to buy. Not anymore. They don't call you sunscreen nerd for nothing. Thank you so much!!!
As a Swede, I use Evy every day, and have for years. I’m phototype 2 and have seen the effects myself from being out in the sun, on the beach etc for entire days without getting burned or even as much as a hint of color. Also it’s easier to use enough sunscreen compared to ordinary creams IMO, as creams can get greasy and Evy does not. Just my two cents ♥️ love your channel 👏♥️
Raw tin skin did a great video addressing the Dermablend issue. What's more problematic is that two dermatologists also promoted dermablend's technique and their videos are still up
I’ve always had a good feeling about EVY, so I’m very happy to see this. So nice to see their tests! I’m very happy that I’ve chosen their sunscreen for my kids and myself!
Oh I forgot about Wayback Machine! Scrolling back through their feed for the posts I originally commented on felt a bit like trying to find Trotsky in Stalinist Russia 😂
THIS CHANNEL is why I started my RUclips channel , science based skincare advice, and as MSc pharmacist who is obsessed about skincare i really enjoy watching your videos a lot . thanks for the info 💖💖😁
Phew. I could feel a stone fall of my heart after hearing your thoughts on the Evy mousse. I love that sunscreen so much and I was stressed when I saw it in the thumbnail haha
thanks for talking about the dermablend drops. As someone who seeks guidance from professionals like you before making any skincare decisions, I thought I was being a weeny for not just mixing the damn drops into sunscreen. I'm no expert, but I just wasn't convinced (even after buying it lol) that there was enough evidence. It's still in my drawer so I'm just gonna try it over sunscreen instead of mixing because it does have a nice formula lol
You somehow manage to make a video for every question that crosses my mind! However, I know they market to sensitive skin but I have eczema prone skin and chemical sunscreens often cause contact dermatitis, and since Evy sunscreens penetrate deeper, wouldn't this be even more of an issue for people with chemical sunscreen sensitivities?
I'm not sure - it's possible that they sit in the SC and don't penetrate much further, and they do use lower concentrations than other sunscreens. I'll ask Evy if they have more info!
Hi! Anecdotal evidence only but both me and my boyfriend use Evy on our faces and have had no problems with it. I have sensitive skin and my boyfriend have both sensitive skin and problems with eczema.
Another anecdotal piece of evidence: I have facial atopic eczema and have had no issues with the Evy Face Sunscreen Spf30, even on top of my ezcema . A lot of sunscreens (both types) tend to aggrevate my ezcema, but not this one. It is the only sunscreen I use for my face now.
@@AnthonyJP91 Maybe not Michelle, specifically. But Keep Cool sent some very aggressively worded cease-and-desist letters to influencers, who talked about their sunscreens failing to live up to the advertised SPF.
So glad you covered the Evy sunscreen tests and their studies. I was pretty skeptical of those claims on their website when I was first introduced to the brand from Gothamista! But I obviously didn’t have enough knowledge to analyze them and just didn’t know what I should trust. Thank you for doing this!
I knew about Evy a few years ago but was skeptical of their claims so went on a years long rigamarole of trying various other sunscreens. Altruist, Nivea UV anti-shine, Biore watery gel, SVR blur, eucerin oil control gel, Garnier anti-shine (a dupe for LRP Shaka Fluid) and several others...they were all too shiny. I'm ok with powdering over shine, but the problem was that they would get oily again after 20 mins or so and I can't be powdering that often. I watched this video, finally tried EVY spf50 face mousse and I'm so happy. It's so light, I can't feel it on my face (unlike other sunscreens like Frezyderm and SVR blur), it doesn't make my eyes burn (Garnier was the big offender for this), no white cast and it's only a bit shiny! Very tolerable. I can powder over this and get a nice finish which lasts for hours. I wish I had used it years ago. Thanks Michelle!
I've been using EVY for 2 years in the hot Melbourne sun. It is hands down the best sunscreen I've ever tried. It is expensive though, and no approved stockists in Australia (that I know of???). I'll continue to import from the UK for use Oct-Jan because its performance really is excellent.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this video. I had a feeling the Dermablend drops were crap. Ty for the investigative reporting on their social media, their dodgey reply, lack of proof. What a waste of $. Never again. Good to know about Evy Tech tho! Kudos to you!
And also something needed to add about the Evy is that it has to be applied first in the routine or at least over skincare that it can properly penetrate (oil free)
Finally, I’ve been waiting for your thoughts on Evy sunscreens so that I can order one! I would like to know, since it’s a mousse, how much product is enough for each application?
They recommend a golf ball size for each limb - I was going to try weighing out golf ball sizes but ran out of time! Evy said that's how they worked out the amount themselves, by weighing out the right amount and seeing that it matched a golf ball.
Hi! It should be cherry size for the face. It takes a little time to spread it properly but nothing radical. It actually leaves a funny feeling on my face but my skin is a hysterical diva.
I've found it really hard to dispense a small amount of EVY because of the aerosol delivery. I challenge you to put an amount smaller than a golf ball into your hands :)
Thank you so much. My brother is a construction worker, works 10 hours on 40+ C° and does not reapply spf every two hours. I really worry about skin cancer, so definitely I will make him to buy this spf. ❣
I'm swedish and Evy is one of my favorite brands for body spfs. I'm currently trying out the face spf as well, but haven't used it long enough to form an opinion about it yet.
I think when the dermablend drops were new, they said you could mix it with sunscreen. I recently bought the drops again and it does not make that claim anymore
I bought the EVY facial sunscreen a few years ago and I can attest to that there is truth to their claims about being a long wearing water resistant SPF. I even put this to a proper test when I was in Jordan visiting Petra and I was under the beating sun for hours and hours and it did not budge. Usually, under the same or similar circumstances I would’ve burned a bit but not with the EVY. I was pleasantly surprised I have to say. But that said, I hated absolutely everything else about this sunscreen from the god awful smell to the terrible, unrelenting stickiness. You could never get the proper amount out from the bottle. Needless to say, never purchased it again.
Can you do a video about heliocare? it's a supplement that claims to protect your skin from the sun from the inside out. I saw a couple of dermatologists talk about it but I wanna know more about the science behind it and if it actually works.
I was ready to be disappointed in EVY and give up on wanting to buy haha, but impressed their claims seem to hold. Thank you so much for such a thorough video!
So glad to hear your thoughts on Evy sunscreen! As someone who has hyperhidrosis and likes to wear makeup, I REALLY like Evy sunscreen! Its the most lightweight sunscreen I've ever used. Once it dries, you can feel (by touch) where you applied it. It's hard to describe... maybe slick is a good word. Its not heavy or unpleasant at all, but you can just tell the difference in texture. One thing I've been impressed with is how you can still feel it after towel drying! Wish it was easier to get in the US because it really makes it more pleasant to wear.
Awesome review of the Evy sunscreen, I have been wanting to an in depth review and wanting to try it but since I don't live in Europe have been hesitant to purchase it to try but I will for sure try now. I have read the claims too and know other countries are more stringent on claims and have better ingredients for sunscreen than the US.
I'm so glad that my favourite sunscreen brand is Lab Muffin-approved! 😁 Pro-tip: EVYs "kids sunscreen" works just as well for adults, except that it's cheaper (lower price per millilitre), so make sure to get the kids version to save yourself some money. 😉
US regulations would move the product from cosmetics to being regulated as a drug. US regulations and rules are weird; my child can't take lip balm to school because SPF falls under Drug information And is considered a drug 🤦♀️
That's really annoying! In Australia we have therapeutic and secondary sunscreen categories that I think make a lot of sense - so a foundation with SPF would be a cosmetic, but sunscreens are drugs. There's still loopholes but the categories work for most things!
Thank you for actually reviewing the data behind these claims and providing excellent interpretation as usual! I have seen lots of other folk, even some doctors and scientists, merely speculate on innovative sunscreen claims and dismiss them without even trying to understand the evidence behind them!
Someone said they could import it to Australia, so maybe there's hope for you too ;) My sister-in-law is a ginger, the kind that burns after 5 minutes in the Swedish summer sun. Yikes. She approves of EVY, it really does last much more than the usual 2 hours. She forgot to reapply it and still didn't burn :D I tan well in summers, but because of EVY I don't tan anymore. xD haha, it's a bit annoying actually. So I swapped to 10 SPF, in the hope of getting a slight tan.
Another fantastic video, Michelle! I always find your videos so interesting, informative, and full of so much helpful explanatory information. Seeing that a new Lab Muffin video is available actually excites me! I feel INFORMED and more learned after watching your videos. My husband has nearly no interest in skin care, but he is a science nerd, and he will often watch your videos with me., and also believes the y are well-reasoned and explained. Thank you so much for doing these videos and your website, and for sharing the work and passion you put into it.
The video by @raw tin skin on the dermablend is also interesting. Maybe you can talk sometime about the stability of more unstable actives in cosmetics, like ascorbic acid and retinol for example. Is it mandatory for a brand to do stability assays where you determine the presence and exact quantity of a specific active in a formula (the ones Amanda Foxon-hills talks about often), next to the regular stability tests? How much degradation is considered acceptable? Without seeing stability assays, how certain can we consumers be the active is properly stabilized? What are the exact regulations, and do they differ worldwide, on how much loss of the active is allowed during the shelf life/PAO?
Unfortunately the answer is pretty boring - not mandatory at all AFAIK in any region (US, EU, Australia) unless it's a drug. Hence why I generally prefer to use therapeutic products (e.g. tretinoin) - the only way to know is to ask brands for their stability data, or to run your own assay. There's a paper I linked in my video on The Ordinary that looked at retinol stability in a range of products available in the EU, and I talked a bit about it in my post about Neutrogena's retinol (labmuffin.com/choosing-retinol-products-neutrogena-rapid-wrinkle-repair-regenerating-cream/). Gothamista also has a blog post about how retinol stability varies wildly between brands.
Ooooookay time to look into Evy sunscreens! I have a genetic collagen disorder that causes my skin to be super fragile. I lack collagen VII, which anchors the layers of skin together and allows it to snap back when friction is applied. My skin just tears and blisters from even minor friction. Ugh. Big concern is the Wounds = damaged cells = high risk of aggressive squamous cell carcinoma pipeline. So I take my sunscreen VERY seriously in order to not be layering risk factors on top of risk factors, so I apply (I think) close to the officially recommended amount. But I am a bit lax about reapplication, I’d appreciate the extra safety cushion of a sunscreen that can last this long.
As a swede who has used Evy sunscreen for years this makes me so happy! I have wondered if their claims really are true. Thank you for making this video!
I love the evy sunscreen as it's easy to get here in norway, but I recently gotten sensitive for it! eyes start stinging like hell :(( I'm gonna try the specific face spf this summer and hope that works 🙏🙏
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience I hope you get to try it then! Honestly it was kinda weird with me bc the first year I used it was fine, but around the 6 -7 hour mark it would actually burn intense for like up to 15 minutes before being ok again, so I was just going "this is fine🙃"....until it wasn't anymore 😞
@@LabMuffinBeautyScience I've also experienced eye stinging later in the day after using Evy. I'm thinking that it's whatever sitting on top of your skin migrating into your eyes. Since Evy provides sun protection just beneath the top layer of skin, I've been thinking that you could apply it over your eyes, let it sit for a bit and then wash it off so that it doesn't sting later, but still have the SPF protection. If it can withstand rubbing and all that hot tub action, I don't see why washing it wouldn't work as well.
I've been using EVY'S face mousse SPF 50 for almost a year now around the eyes and on the eyelids. So far no irritation. However, when I've used other products underneath, like an eye gel, then my eyes would get irritated. The eye gel on its own isn't irritating but in combination with the EVY it is. Are you using anything in combination with the EVY? If so, perhaps that is the reason for your irritation as well. EVY alone is enough for moisture anyway.
I’m wearing the evy sunscreen right now and it’s so perfect for us who can’t reapply bcs pf school/work. Also it can be a bit grippy so it kinda does the job of a primer if you want to wear make ip
@@martaanna9153 absolutely, however some of them are formulated to provide moisture too, so if you're going for the one called Daily Defence Spf 50 you don't need a separate moisturiser. I would personally recommend the Kids version though, cause it's not as moisturising as the others and dries down more on the matte side. Neither of them feels heavy though so it just depends on your skin type, preferences and climate!
That was an AWESOME video, Michelle!! You put so much time and work into your research, and the result is trustworthy content that is unparalleled on RUclips. I love it so much! 😊👍🏼 And thanks to this vid, I’m predicting that the sales of Evy sunscreens are going to go through the roof, so I’d better get my order in now! Love from Brisbane ☀️ Chaq x
This is very interesting information. You do a great job of being clear and straightforward in your presentations. Thank you so much for sharing what you have learned.
Another great video, thank you. I bought the Evy sunscreen, and I didn't like using it. I felt weird putting it on my face. How do you know how much to apply? I'm pleased to hear their claims are true. You are fantastic.
Thank you! They recommend a golf ball sized amount. I also find it weird, but I'm going to give it another try in winter when it's less humid here - I'm wondering if it's a climate or skin type issue? Apparently in Sweden people say it's light, but Swedish people have a very different point of comparison (Euro sunscreens are thicc)
Hey! Regarding the evy sunscreen, the spf seems to be maintained after 6 hours but what about the level of uva protection? Is it the same too? Also the evy daily mousse sunscreen (the daily version) contains Micah which provides visible light protection! Also, LOVE LOVE your content! ♥️
I wasn't shown information about UVA - I would assume so based on the way the patent works, but it's possible something weird is happening! I haven't actually looked into mica and visible light protection!
Thank you for this review. I’ve used both products. I did not like the appearance of dermablend drops mixed into things, including sunscreens and moisturizer. Does give good coverage if gently tapped on, though. Glad I haven’t been making my sunscreen less effective!
@Lab Muffin Beauty Science, I have an interesting question for you. If I use sunscreen every day (SPF 70 La Roche Posay Anthelios) why do I keep getting a tan on my face, even when I'm wearing a tone of sunscreen? I'm skin type III ( I can up to IV even wearing sunscreen).
I reckon Michelle might need more info, so here's a few things that might affect efficacy. given you watch Michelle's stuff i imagine you've already considered this! (i have been known to forget the basics; recently i kept having break outs and was like "why isn't my exfoliation working???" well, shockingly i'm sure, it started clearing up when i pulled back, lol. my poor poor moisture barrier!!) 1. Are you applying enough? 2. Are you reapplying every couple of hours? 3. Do you wipe or generally touch your face a lot? (i certainly do, often without thinking!) 4. Do you apply anything else to your face, and if you do - a) At what stage do you apply your sunscreen, and - b) how long do you wait between stages?
I heard about the claims of the Evy sunscreen a couple years ago. Although, I was a bit skeptical at the time. Thank you for explaining the testing that supports the Evy's claims. I'm definitely more interested in trying it out.
Would be super interested in a video comparing drugstore skincare and medical grade skincare sold by estheticians/dermatologists. Is there a scientific difference between the cheaper and more expensive products? 🧐
NICE, You finally did one on EVY :) I think I asked for it 2 years ago and had given up... xD Thank you for making this, and for being so factual about it.
I tend to get eczema from the sun if I'm not careful, and I have found that most sunscreens I've tried really don't help that, and some even make it worse - except for Evy and AnneMarie Börlind's Sun Fluid (although the SPF 30 one is more prone to making a film on top of my skin that's easily rubbed off, which I don't appreciate, though I can't say if the sun blocking effect still remains). AnneMarie Börlind also has a SPF 20 lip balm that I love, but for my body Evy is both cheaper and more practical for me. Thank you for making this video! ☺️
A little unrelated question, but do you know any Australian sunscreen brands that ship internationally? (except Ultra Violette, that's way out of my budget :( Would love to have access to some of Aussie sunscreens since they have stricter regulations. So grateful to have found your channel, it's unbiased and so straightforward
I’d love to know the amount to use of the Evy being a mousse texture! Your video on how much SPF do we really need was SO HELPFUL! I wonder how much a mousse would be for your face.
So I'm a Swede and use Evy sunscreens sometimes, but I've read through their explanations & the patent several times and I always fail to see what differentiates their formula from any other (well-absorbed) emulsions. I appreciate that they deliver sunscreen into skin that's not dissolved in a ton of oily esters or oils, and that the foam bottle means you can use them for years and they don't even need to be preserved. I find them somewhat sticky (they have an acrylic film former if I remember right), and they do tend to clog my pores on face after awhile, but better on both counts than most sunscreens I've tried, and I 200% trust their sunscreening. But when they go on to talk about their "technology" for protecting the skin barrier, "like a goretex membrane", I get Topical occlusives (like petroleum jelly and dimethicone) function as "a semi-permeable membrane" on skin, and an additional barrier to fluids, irritants etc. Emollients in general, when studied in microscopes applied on skin, mix in with the upper stratum corneum layers, deposit between dead/dying skin cells and give a smoother appearance and usually some occlusion. A few very expensive skincare formulas have ceramides etc and claim to be incorporated into the actual skin barrier. Evy's doesn't contain physiological barrier components, except palmitic & stearic acids (which according to other studies may or may not be a good thing for barrier integrity to add to skin on their own). Still, I wonder if I'm missing anything here.
I think it's the specific mix of free fatty acids (they don't have to be endogenous to have an effect on the SC) and possibly other ingredients that just happens to alter the SC lipid structure in the right way to get particular ingredients to embed into it evenly without compromising barrier function. Supramolecular structures like the stratum corneum lipid lamellar liquid crystal structure are pretty sensitive to different ratios of ingredients.
The most important thing you said is that, sunscreen is not that great. I have found it is very rare to find a good sunscreen that not only protects the skin but doesn’t break you out or cause major issue. I have literally 3 I recommend to clients and it has only been after using them for years and seeing the results with consistent use. Thank You for your opinion and knowledge. 🍑🙌🏻Lisa

Why does my comment keep getting deleted?

It probably worked with the original product they used, but then they realized or found out that it doesn't work with everything. From my personal experience, mixing alters the consistency of some sunscreens, which may interfere with the film forming agents. Very waterproof sunscreens don't seem to set up quite the same, and it seems to work the best when mixing into moisturizers w/spf. Even then, I I definitely wouldn't mix in more than 2 or 3 drops.
So happy to hear that EVY claims stand - it is the most amazing sunscreen I have ever tried, and although it's a nightmare to have them ship to Australia, EVY is totally worth the pain

hi I’m from Australia too and I’m wondering how you get EVY sunscreens in Australia?
What other products have you been wondering about? 🤔
Also I am not sponsored by Evy or Dermablend - I always clearly disclose brand sponsorships in the title and caption, and near the start of the video both verbally and in text on screen 😉
What about pro- biotics (including pre- and post- biotics) skincare? I've seen more of it marketing so that could be a fun video!

I'm curious about it now. Is it ok for combo to oily skin?
@@daniela9488 Yes, I don't find it to make me any oilier.
@@daniela9488 Yeah definitely, I use the "body" spf 30-50 on my face and it doesn't aggravate my acne. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Evy Sunscreen was just pulled from the market in Norway. Because their 50 SPF sunscreen only had the effect of 15 SPF in an independent test.
Really? Sad because liked the texture... Thanks for informing
I love EVY and have used them for years! Here's a couple of tips:
- a golfball sized amount is enough for the face. warm it up in your hands before you apply it as it makes it a lot easier.

As a Swede, I use Evy every day, and have for years. I’m phototype 2 and have seen the effects myself from being out in the sun, on the beach etc for entire days without getting burned or even as much as a hint of color. thanks for talking about the dermablend drops.
Oh man I love Evy's sunscreens. They're so good.
I love your videos, you encouraged me to wear sunscreen everyday and my skin is super cute, thank you❤❤🥺🥺
You somehow manage to make a video for every question that crosses my mind!
Another anecdotal piece of evidence:
I have facial atopic eczema and have had no issues with the Evy Face Sunscreen Spf30, even on top of my ezcema . A lot of sunscreens (both types) tend to aggrevate my ezcema, but not this one. It is the only sunscreen I use for my face now.
PLEASE DON'T SUE ME!!!
"Shading THAT brand?! 😏"
Hahaha! I'm not being sued (yet) but I feel like they'd like to 😅
Someone has threatened to sue Michelle?!
@@AnthonyJP91 Maybe not Michelle, specifically.
But Keep Cool sent some very aggressively worded cease-and-desist letters to influencers, who talked about their sunscreens failing to live up to the advertised SPF.
EVY for the win! There's a good reason I've been recommending this brand for some time, and I'm really glad to hear you rate them too! 💙
Yay! Many of us have been waiting for ages for Evy to be reviewed by u :)!! I am so glad I watched this.
Which website do you buy from?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this video. I had a feeling the Dermablend drops were crap. Ty for the investigative reporting on their social media, their dodgey reply, lack of proof. What a waste of $. Never again. Good to know about Evy Tech tho! Kudos to you!
Evy is my everyday fave so I was honestly nervous about your verdict.
@@andreapreku3652 I like to use a golf ball-ish size for my face 🤔

The Evy sunscreen sounds really impressive!
I was so curious about Dermablend's claims but wanted to wait until you talked about it before purchasing it... I'm glad I did! Thank you!
I think when the dermablend drops were new, they said you could mix it with sunscreen. I recently bought the drops again and it does not make that claim anymore
I love Evy's sunscreens. They sink in superfast and they are not greasy or sticky 😊
Could you send me some in USA? I have fomo!
@@ladyexpenses7279you can order it from Europe
I've been excitedly waiting for your take on the Dermablend Flawless Creator Drops mixed with sunscreen, thank you!!
Also the kids version is collagen free (which is derived from cattle).

@@tralalda agreed, it's also kind of messy and wonky to apply. Once it has dried the skin looks and feels really nice though. 👌👌

Has Evy specifically tested for the endurance if the UVA filters over 8 hours?
actually, what is the UVA protection when you apply it ? (for spf50 and 30)
The video by @raw tin skin on the dermablend is also interesting.
Used this brand for couple of years, both for me and my kid.
As a swede who has used Evy sunscreen for years this makes me so happy! I have wondered if their claims really are true. Thank you for making this video!

Honestly it was kinda weird with me bc the first year I used it was fine, but around the 6 -7 hour mark it would actually burn intense for like up to 15 minutes before being ok again, so I was just going "this is fine🙃"....until it wasn't anymore 😞
@@maristar852 Hahaha I've done that before with other sunscreens! The burn is the worst...

@@martaanna9153 absolutely, however some of them are formulated to provide moisture too, so if you're going for the one called Daily Defence Spf 50 you don't need a separate moisturiser. 1. Are you applying enough?
2. Are you reapplying every couple of hours?
3. Do you wipe or generally touch your face a lot? (i certainly do, often without thinking!)
4. Do you apply anything else to your face, and if you do
- a) At what stage do you apply your sunscreen, and
- b) how long do you wait between stages?

Thank you for making this, and for being so factual about it.

Have you started using any new products regularly? Have your top sunscreen choices changed? :-)
Can we assume that UVA protection holds up after these Evy tests as well as the SPF does?
The most important thing you said is that, sunscreen is not that great. I have found it is very rare to find a good sunscreen that not only protects the skin but doesn’t break you out or cause major issue. I have literally 3 I recommend to clients and it has only been after using them for years and seeing the results with consistent use.
Thank You for your opinion and knowledge. 🍑🙌🏻Lisa
what are the ones you recommend?

I love ...
🍑 Color Science Glow and many of their products.
🍑 Trader Joe’s Non nano Zinc oxide
🍑 MD formulations zinc oxide for the face
Be mindful that sunscreens in the US are not as good as say products from Australia.
If you have one you are curious about I can look at the ingredients.
Thank You for being kind about my comment. Have a blessed day Sophie. 🙌🏻🍑Lisa
I’m loving Avene’s European sunscreens for my sensitive rosacea skin. Never burns my eyes or irritate my Rosacea cheeks. But they do leave a slight to moderate white cast! They make a few tinted versions, though.

Wonderful 🙌🏻 I wonder If your European formula is better than what we can find here?
I just rub in any white cast. With that said Zinc Oxide is very healthy for the skin so that’s a good thing. Have a blessed evening Marco. 🍑🙌🏻Lisa
@@PeachesSkinCare I’ve used their fully chemical sunscreens so it is different from US formulas. Avene sunscreens contain Tinisob M, Tinosorb S, Uvasorb HEB and Avobenzone. Tinosorb M is a wonderful broad spectrum stable filter but it’s actually a “hybrid” filter which leaves a white cast. I know I have to be careful with Octorylene in sunscreen formulas. Have a wonderful evening too. ☺️
I would thoroughly enjoy a video like this on Vitamin C products! It’s been getting some infamy on my end of social media, but I know you’ve said often that it’s effects are pretty research-backed.
We love you 💗💗💗💗💗💗thank u so much for sharing this important info!!! 💗💗💗💗
I want the Evy sunscreen sooo bad! Why must the US be so far behind
I’ve read and heard a lot about Evy in groups I’m in and see it everywhere, but since I never see anyone I follow online talk about it and was wondering if their hype was not worth it
Turns out it’s because I’m a Swede and that people probably just can’t buy it as easily. I will definitely buy it for summer as a nice body spf!
Hi! I have posted my comment a few times, but it keeps getting deleted for some reason? The website for EVY sunscreen claims you can still tan whilst using their sunscreen, but at the same time they claim to have very high UVA protection? How is this possible? Please help! Why does my comment keep getting deleted?
Thank you for covering Evy!
I wonder though, is it safe, from a long-term perspective, to have products that stay in the skin for so long? And that might not get washed out even when you do actually want to wash them out? Thank you!!
