There's something about this song that makes me teary. You know when a song makes you nostalgic not necessarily for the lyrics or the song itself but because you reconnect it to a memory or a time? That's the feeling. This song is so iconic and such a statement for those years that I immediately reconnect it to my childhood, I listen to this song and the image of 9 years old me dancing with my sister in front of MTV on saturday mornings flashes in my mind, it takes me back to a time that feels so distant and so different from today but still so "mine", nostalgia at its best. If "core memory" was a song it would be this one.

For all the people that are in toxic relationships and it’s hard to stay with that person just know everything will work out if it’s meant to, life will show you if it’s not meant to be
You're absolutely right, I was in a toxic relationship for 15yrs I thought I was happy until one day he walked away without a word leaving my soul & heart in broken pieces, but one day I decided to "Wake up & move on, then I picked all the broken pieces & with them decided to build a new heart stronger than ever & unable to be broken again. Remember that you don’t attract what you want, you attract who you are. So focus on love. Focus on happiness. Focus on feeling fulfilled and like you already have everything you’ve ever wanted. Focus on gratitude. You are a powerful source of energy. When you do this, you will get what you want because you are in alignment and focusing on all you have instead of a lack. Just know you have everything you have ever wanted. It’s already yours . Be joyful! Sending loving energy to you all. ❤️
My aunt loved her music so much. I remember when my uncle picked her up after a long day of her working she would play this stuff. She meant no harm with the words she just felt the melody. Boy did those days mean so much. They mean more now than they ever did. A few years later I appreciate everything a little more. But I'll never appreciate her absence in my life.
Never really fully realised how important it is to leave people who are toxic, be it friends or lovers. Like, it was always a known fact that all people with experience keep repeating over and over, to “leave them”, yet I kept thinking that it was more complicated than that, so I stayed “a bit longer” with people to see if it gets better because I really didn’t want to lose those few wholesome moments we had in between the toxic ones. I believed it was worth it, but once I was close to reaching my limit it became apparent that it really wasn’t. And then, only then, did I fully understand the advice “just leave”. And I do it in a heartbeat now too, be it good or just a tad too paranoid. I sure don’t want to experience that again, and only wish that I’d left earlier. Don’t be me guys, leave. ✌️
Don’t know why you’re even sharing because other people will continue to do whatever they want to. It is not ever ok to stay with a toxic person but that’s also not the fault of the victim. And leaving someone in a heartbeat is not something easy to do nor do people want to be forced to their limits with a toxic person. Goodbye then glad that’s working for you! But I don’t agree completely with this belief. It’s just sort of insensitive to people who have dealt with toxic individuals who did not take responsibility for their actions. I’m glad your life philosophy is working for you, but it’s not always that easy for others to accept these things and it’s not happy go lucky
You're still baddies and you don't need anyone to validate that feeling! You are unique and there will never be another you! Look yourself in the mirror everyday and tell yourself how beautiful and lovable and worthwhile you are. And that confidence will come back 😁You can tell your brain how to think by repetition and the words you tell yourself are real to your brain! Be it's boss! Don't let others control your brain because life is so precious, and you are too precious to waste your life. Be happy and Fuck what everyone else thinks! Hold your head up high, look them in the eye and let them know who they fuckin with! In a good way lol. Let em know!
