Hearing memorial stadium chant go big red in the 4th quarter gave me goosebumps it was like a whole state got through hell and we are here on the other side
Didn't see the game, but that is SHOCKING to hear about an offense under Rhule. Makes me wonder if Dana was able to mark his territory a bit with Rhule before accepting the job. I heard Rhule say once that he LOVED it when he had a little bit of a lead and could just run the clock and not score. ....WHAT?! Scoring is how you win. He loves the defensive side of FB a little too much. He's makes FB very stressful for the fans. At BU, they kicked OU's butt for the entire first half in 2019, (up 31-3 at one point) then sat back and let OU come back and win the game...without scoring a single point in the second half.
It would be awesome 😬 I don't care if both of us are winless, I miss the hell out of that rivalry. If you grew up in that time, our rivalry was as big as OSU-Mich, IMO
Exactly! We need to try & hold off on too much kool-aid, as this Wisconsin team is well on their way toward rock bottom! But the 4 full quarters is for Sure something to get the warm fuzzy feelings kickin!💥😎
Been watching for years. Your BEST show. Most positive, encouraging, and hopeful show I've seen in many years, and all for good reason. Not hyperbole. Thanks, man.
Remember back in the glory years when our QB would look like we were running an option, but he would step back and throw deep to an invariably wide open receiver? If Haarberg ever fakes a handoff and throws the ball, NOBODY would be ready for it. Every time he lines up at QB, he runs a read option and keeps the ball.
Phoenix and AZ in general is a huge winter haven for retired Nebraskans as is all of heavily populated southern Calif. and Las Vegas. Add in Nebraskans with Nebraska residences traveling to the game seeking winter warmth and Phoenix becomes completely red.
Adam you're a total Stat Nerd like me. I think unless he absolutely wants to go somewhere else, we need to do everything in our power to keep Dana around for at least ONE FULL SEASON. I'm a total fan boy. He has had a similar effect as Cignetti at Indiana. Feels great to be a Cornhusker right now. 🎉🎉🎉
As a Nebraska Alumnus and former athlete living in Northwest Arkansas, I want to see the Huskers play the Razorbacks (I'm also an Arkansas Alumnus) in the Reliaquest Bowl. I've also been a Buccaneers fan since 1978, so going to Tampa will be all the sweeter. GoBigRed!!
Storming the field was therapeutic for many Husker fans. We got the 6th win, we finally beat Wisconsin again, we finally won in Nov. for the first time in long while, we didn't make a bunch of stupid mistakes, we didn't embarrass ourselves, we saw the potential again that we all saw the beginning of the season and so on. It was like opening the floodgates to an emotional roller coaster ride that has been Nebraska football for a few years! We stood by our team and are finally being rewarded. It feels good and feels like it is all going in a positive direction now. GBR
Physical. That's the name of the game. And Adam, it's true, you definitely have been preaching all of these things ALL YEAR! It will be interesting how DH balances passing with the physicality of the Big "Ten." He seems to have a great instinct for the rhythm of the game and definitely knows how to communicate with the players. I remember the TO interview from last week, and Coach did seem to have a little trepidation or concern for DH's predilection for the pass game, but based on what I saw from Saturday, I am hopeful this will work. Iowa will be a MUCH greater test, as Wisconsin's stolen blueprint for Nebraska's failure seems to be in full force, as I predicted when LF was hired (serves Wisconsin right, tho, as they also stole our blueprint for success - ugh). We'll have a MUCH better idea around 10pm Friday. Now, I've a question for you, Adam. Given Iowa's propensity for running the ball, does Nebraska put a 4th man on the line? Explain to us, the laymen armchair coaches, AC! GBR! 1. Yes 2. Don't care! 3. OU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4. Yes, he'll be here! Throw the bones!!!!!!
@carrikerchronicles90 I totally agree with you about 2000. After all the fighting nebraska did to even get a season to be played, and then turn down a bowl game is just mind blowing
Went to the basketball game in Omaha to see us beat the blue team and then the football game the next day. This was definitely an all-time weekend as a Husker fan. GBR
O boy... I'm excited the Cornhuskrs are going to a bowl game... The farmer's deserve a vacation. Hopefully it's a warm climate and peaceful place. DPS will get the job done !
This is the best sports weekend! My beloved Huskers finally got the monkey off our back, beat Wisconsin, and are going to a bowl game. Moreover, my homeland, Taiwan, won the WBSC Premier 12 baseball world championship. It's been 21 and 32 years since we were able to beat powerhouse teams like the U.S.A and Japan. This is Taiwan's first-ever world baseball championship!
I hope Dana will stay here for a couple of years......Dream match up- Colorado (shut them up AGAIN)...Bowl game-Tampa/Phoenix...Storming the field---HELL YES !!!!!!!!!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled at Saturday’s performance, but one game doesn’t equal a turnaround. If they play like this at Iowa, then I’ll believe they’ve turned it around.
We HAVE to keep Holg. There was a clear jump in that 2nd game, imagine them with time. See, I'm doing it again, looking at next year's schedule and thinking it's the year we win 10+, but seriously though, 2025 is looking promising
I'm hoping Dana stays next season, and hope the idiot rumors of Raiola transfering stops. Two days ago some dumb article said if he went into the portal he might land in Miami, Georgia or Ohio State. GBR! Also to quote Jamal Banks "Job's not done." On to Iowa. Never forget to THROW THE BONES ☠️
When Wisconsin scored and pulled closer, it immediately apparent, when the offense came out and kept the same aggressive play calling and execution,, it was Eureka! They are a team now. Go for it ,,take Iowa out back and sweep out the bow l and sign those recruits and get a couple big time transfers and run the table next year !!
What have you heard from your connections about Malachi Coleman? Is he gone? He’s seen what play call will be and both Banks and Nayor are gone, he’ll be a cog next year with 3 seasons to go.
I think any game on senior night is enough to take the field. The last 5/6 years don't matter, that day is special for the seniors and the fans that supported them. I'm sure Matt's been working on Dana and selling Lincoln to him. He isn't quite as open as Matt is about his love for the city and the fans, but I'm sure he'd love to have Dylan as one of his proteges, not to mention that one freshman receiver and those two sophomore running backs.
Well he was a head coach and offensive coordinator at the same time so he's more like say Osborne than RHule. I personally hope he stays and for a long time cause our offense was totally different than before and intensity was insame.
I remember seeing on reddit South Carolina fans were saying that Satterfeild trys to do to much with to many players. So it makes sense Dana is able to simplify the playbook and define roles for everyone. Also I am fine with storming the feild as Nebraska has not this much success since 2016. The students and fans have been there through the lows so let them celerate the highs.
The fact Nebraska Volleyball is not #1 literally makes no sense. Pitt has not played nearly the same number of ranked teams NU has played, and they both lost to the SAME TEAM.
Every bowl representatives will want the Big N to be selected for their bowl because they will pack the house!!! I would love to see OU vs N and that would be a sell out no matter what bowl or what date. Holgersen is a lock for O cordinator, he is in a place that is on the climb and is excited to be part of a playoff team. We need to keep White for D cordinator for one more year and both sides of the ball will be rocking!! Look out Husker Nation and Throw the Bones!!!
Hey Adam, when’s the last time the Huskers scored 40+ in a game? My wife and I follow the Husker ladies volleyball fairy closely. We weren’t around when SMU beat them 3-0, how and why did that happen? GBR!
Im so glad, excited the Huskers finally beat the Badgers & to do it to get to go to a Bowl game finally!!👏🙌❤️🏈 Now I can go to Madison WI for Thanksgiving holding my head high& tell my Son in law Go Big Red & how about those Huskers!!😁
lol ...... I had to read that a couple times before I "got" it. If HH had been seeing a couple series AT QB every game this season, Dylan and the rest of the fanbase wouldn't act like it's the drama-filled event of "getting benched" and instead maybe just an inning or two of much-needed and well-intentioned relief pitching. I shouldn't second-guess the guys in the room and on the sideline, but I can't help but agree with you.
Rhule even showed mercy on Wisconsin, a courtesy they have never shown towards Nebraska by not trying to score in the last two minutes. Could have been worse. When is the last time NU could say that about a good team...
Storming field was a release valve. It like to go to Tampa, play Oklahoma. Gotta keep Holgerson. Knows the players and verbiage pay him just enough so he keeps getting paid by his old team
You make it sound like everything has been fixed. His record is 1 win and 1 loss. Before I would admit that he is the answer for all of Nebraska’s problems is a little premature. If Nebraska can beat Iowa and win the Bowl game I will then start to become a believer.
I wonder if there is a way to actually "pay" DH more than what he's getting from Houston. For instance, if NU were to make a $1M donation to a charity (cancer research, etc) in his name, it would lower his taxable income plus be a good thing in general. I don't know how that would impact his contract with Houston.
Please don’t do Oklahoma for a bowl game. We just played them twice not long ago. Oklahoma probably yawns at Nebraska. We have lost so many times to them sorry to say. Probably will not happen but how about Iowa State? Also Nebraska Volleyball they have been sweeping about everyone. They are the elite Nebraska sports team. Also they are a dynasty program like the football team once was. They are the standard for college volleyball across the country. As for storming the field after the game, why not? It brings excitement and fun to a team that has been down for decades.
I can't say why, but I'm over the Big 8 rivalries. I've been following the Huskers since the 1960s, and I just don't care about the old Big 8 teams anymore. I'd rather play someone new/different. Someone we play rarely, or never.
If Auburn beats Bama, what are the odds that a four-loss Bama team will go to the Music City Bowl to play Nebraska (assuming that we beat the Iowa clowns)? Nothing makes my daughter madder than to hear me say that I'd pull for the Huskers over the Tide if they played each other. My kids are Bama grads and I'm a Husker MBA.
The Husker fans deserved to storm the field on Saturday. Husker fans have paid their dues and are usually well behaved. After no bowls in 8 years, endless changes in leadership to right this ship and still all sellouts at Memorial Stadium?? Storm away. Be great to go to a bowl in Tampa or Phoenix and not the one in NYC. NYC for a bowl? Yikes. Be great to possibly play Oklahoma in a bowl too. You rock Adam! GBR
Is it Stats inability to make adjustment. Why did it take 5 weeks to decide to wait. Rhule is the blame of that one. Not being a downer because I'm happy that they might get to Florida for a bowl game. I like this team cut em lose
