From what I saw in google earth pro's historic imagery, this siren's rotator was in the same position in November 2004.The same goes with the one that was at Kistler Park. The welding must have happened sometime before then.
I made a video of an Allertor. After showing it turning a few times we got the idea, so I slowly panned around to show its environment. Same with my 2t22A. I show it start up, you can see a little torsion!, and then after 20 seconds show its neighborhood rather than boring 3-minute 2t22 "still-life". Just before I turn off power I close in to show the rotor all the way to stop. (To theoretically increase volume, I removed the screens where the projector cones attach to the stator.)
Both of the Hurricanes are by houses, and I think that the people who live behind them kept complaining about it when it faced their house. I went there to see them in person and there are homes pretty close to them.
@minnesotaoutdoorwarningsir2547 he meant sucks that they fixed it in place (welded it in place, making it no longer rotate). In this context, the fixed he meant was secured in place permanently
@@minnesotaoutdoorwarningsirens That bullshit. It's a siren, they are suppost to be loud. I don't understand what idiot would call in a siren to have it's rotator welded in place because it was "too loud". Are sirens quiet?, no.
+Shodan Computer Search Engine that beeping noise is a the way they activated the siren. the local government agency sends those tones over radio and the siren has a radio that receives those tones and it goes off. the person who recorded this video had a hand-held radio so he/she could hear the tones.
They do still have the sentry 10v at veterans park. I just saw it today but it must be out of commission because there is a 2001 across the road less than 1/4 mile away
The fast windup makes it even more scary, hearing this as a kid in the 70s probably stirred nightmares.
Same here. I was a kid in the 70s too. I remember those days.

Looks like both of the la crescent hurricanes were welded in a fixed position.

This could’ve have happened in the 80’s or 90’s since these Hurricanes were probably installed in 70’s. But I could be wrong ngl.
Love the little remington pattern on the radio thingy at the beginning of the video.

Sweet video, sucks they fixed the rotator but the siren still sounds sweet though
why does it suck that they fixed the rotator?

No, I meant the actual Hurricane sounded like a Thunderbolt.
Bb and D musical pitches major third interval.
How unfortuante that it does not rotate.
Why not show the photos during the test?
Awesome
0:52 you probably thought "HOLY FUCK!"
Sounds like a Thunderbolt winding up @0:51!

could I use this audio for my mini siren ?
Did the siren sound off on its own or did the testers sound it off?
the testers set it off
After many years I now know how they work :)
Who welded the rotator?
Who knows… maybe WSS? I doubt it though
so it wont disturb people?
They broke the rotator on purpose?!
THATS MAKES ME VERY ANGRY! VERY ANGRY INDEED
How long ago were these replaced?
Oh a long time ago because I’m kinda mad I missed seeing this I live 1 town over!!!
