Loving how *hobby is mispelled on the thumbnail just to add one more hack to uptick ‘correction engagement’. Attention in the currency.
His conversation even starts with discussions on failure. It’s all part of the game.

15:12 - "kindness is the foundation to retention. retention is how you build a real company."
15:17 - "Number 1: I think accountability is number 1. I am baffled by leaders' ability to blame everybody but themselves. if you're a leader by nature, everything is your fault. and so, I take accountability in everything that's happened in my personal life and my professional life and everything in between. I have plenty of feelings in my personal and professional life of what the other parties had to do, but I don't spend time on blame or dwelling. the number 1 characteristic of a winner, leader, is accountability. I think compassion and empathy is the next. the reason I hold no grudges is I understand why. I think compassion and empathy mixed in with accountability. I think competitiveness is a major factor. I think the world has demonized competition in the last 30 years in a very unfortunate way. I think 8th place trophies actually lead to a lot of anxiety and depression with children, now 20 and 30 years olds. not the reverse. merit matters. and so I think competitiveness matters. tenacity. ambition. these are kind of the hard-soft skills. and then on the soft-soft skills, it's definitely kindness, empathy, caring, being sweet, approachable. I just don't understand how people don't know that likeableility is a direct correlation to something that's healthy."
18:00 (paraphrased quote) "be kind, gracious and understanding in every scenario, even on the way to your ship sinking, even when it's a gut punch to you, because that comes around in the long-term and that matters. people just don't look at the bigger picture."
19:45 (somewhat paraphrased quote) "scaled creative in social channels. and then doing unscalable work ... leads to depth like I've never seen. there's depth, there's width. but it's all about creative. the world was changed by writers, by poets , by musicians, by public speakers. everyone here can have the world they want. the problem is that most people here that are trying to do good and optimism are quieter than people who are trying to do negativity and bad. negativity and darkness and bad are loud. they're on the offense. positivity and happiness is content, thus not pushing themselves to be loud. one of the biggest things I'm trying to do is be loud in the face of negativity. in the face of anything and everything I always want to go positive and do good. and I'm empathetic to peoples' feelings but I'm always going to push positive things 'cause it is positive. life is complicated, there's a lot of variables, there's a lot of nuances. but positivity in this room needs to be louder, and so if you want that, the reason you're not finding it, it's because you're not putting it into the universe enough. more creative, more written word, more audio, more video, more jumping into 'me saying "yes" to this'...doing things that you intuitively feel like you will leave something more positive into the world for somebody even when it's inconvenient and possibly even painful."

Yes. That's a painful side of the truth that people are scared of failure because of their ego. If we truly break it down, we're afraid of being judged and of disappointing the people we value.

Thank you. I just was selling something I had in my house (posted before re listening to you) and while down there started to take a video since I’m working to be better and give back to my community and just enjoy life. While I was filming I met the business owner of the area. Not saying anything will come from it but I feel I’m where I’m suppose to be right now and I love it so much

Innovation, the economy or the competition isn't what puts a business out of business. The mentality in the business puts the business out of business.
Think of a business being like that of a human. It has a personality. It has a unique character.
Certain personalities attract people, certain personalities push people away.

Keep hittin it! You can always refine from the learned lesson. It’s not a rocket explosion 🙂 (but even Elon came back from that)! You can always pivot to the newly discovered path with the awareness from the failure.
It’s not skydiving…if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again 😂. You’ve got the rest of your life to try whatever you decide to infuse in your reality.

Ok, lets do this. I grew up not knowing words, but taking massive actions. The words that I did hear, none of them had n't attached to the end of them.
At age 49, I l knew I needed to learn more words to be able to communicate with people on the internet.
It was at this time I learned what these two words, failure and success meant.
For me, they are the same, simply because I learned from each one. Each one allowed me to become more successful at business and at home and with friends.
