You may find better alignment in the genre lists. The struggle when there are so many types of indie games out there, favoring a particular genre or style tends to show. When we're working across genres and styles, then, my lists tend to look pretty eclectic, and in the interests of representing genres or styles (like family, casual, or story-driven games normally) that aren't always left with much oxygen I'll prop them up a bit. To some degree the top ten tends to be populated with a hodge podge of what I'd consider to be games at or very near the top of their genres. Of course, these lists are always in flux so already half-way through this year I'd say there'll be a few games that force their way in as well. :)
@@gamingartbeasts Then I've got the hookup for you with pretty well every genre you could imagine and many of them, like Action, have massive lists, Action having 100. ruclips.net/video/BCE8F4SO9g8/видео.html Now, what gets tricky with more generic genres like "Action" is that I have an internal rule that I won't feature the same game in more than 2 genre top lists... so games like Hades and Dead Cells aren't in the Top 100 Action since I consider them both more appropriate in the Roguelike and Challenging lists. It does make it confusing for people, no doubt, but again more than anything I'm about showing people as many solid games as possible so letting dominant games (which, being honest, everyone has heard of most of the time anyway) hog up all the oxygen goes against my goals. :)
Excellent list my friends. I am watching this on my 47 inch Sharp Aquos TV and it looks great. I love indie games. But is the "crackle" sound supposed to be in the background of the Stardew Valley video? I checked my phone, and it's present on there too. Or is that in the game?
Thanks for the props (be sure to share... like on Reddit (: ), as for the crackle in that it must have been when I captured it ages ago. When I notice it I usually now reboot and try again, but that was waaaay back in the early days and I probably just assumed it wasn't coming through or something. May need to just grab a new sample, an excuse to revisit the game again.
@@NindieSpotlight if your using an Elgato HD 60S... I also suffer from the occasional crackle and hiss. An easy fix is, is to simply unplug it from your PC, and plug it back in. Somehow, that reset method seems to work.

Since the list is meant to be representative of every flavor / genre on the Switch that makes it pretty selective in the end. It is on the top lists for Action and Challenging but even within those respective lists there's quite a lot ahead of it. Considering we're at 5 years of games it makes for a lot of jockeying for position.
Where a ton of great indie titles are, and will be found in their genre lists. With so many very different titles in the same scored tiers one part of the sorting is prioritizing newer titles over older ones... whether that's fair or not is another discussion but almost 5 years in old titles have had far more time for people to find them so I consider it fair. It's definitely making an appearance in the Adventure and Story-Driven lists though. :)

@@NindieSpotlight Understood. I tend to enjoy games with action more than puzzle games or games like Animal Crossing, which I don't know the genre of.
