Recycled pickle barrels! Never thought of that - very clever!

We have a facility that sells almost any size of recycled barrels cheaply. Just have to make sure they are food grade barrels that were used for food products not industrial products. Much cheaper than buying new!

@@TexasOrganicGardeningI’m also in Central Tx, where do you get the barrels?

@@shaybaines7192 It is a rural location near the Forumla One racetrack. I don't recall the name of the facility, but go to Craigslist and search for food grade barrels and they have lots of ads & lots of inventory. The location will show as Creedmoor/Dale TX/South Austin

I have a video on how to prep them for rain collection system here on the channel if you decide to go that route.

Cool. Do you have asphalt shingles on your roof? If so I would be concerned with what might be leeching out into the runoff for the water you plan to use for the garden. Personally, I'd be wary of using that for edible crops.

Yes I looked into that. I def wouldn’t use it for potable water. I’m ok with it for drip irrigation. Others may disagree - it’s one of those often debated topics.
