You said you didn't like the CR123 batteries in the Yoter and I don't blame you there. Bering Optics has a battery extension so you can use 2 each 16650 rechargeable batteries and get hours of night hunting without changing batteries in the dark. I use it and instead of 2 to 3 nights of hog hunting on a set of 123's, I get 20+ nights of hunting if I use a thermal spotter. I hunt with the Super Hogster.

I would really like to hear some opinions. I want to get a night scope I’m aiming toward thermal but I’m concerned about quality. I can only afford something around 1000. I keep seeing bad things about atn. I’m looking at the agm rattler ts25-256. I’m wondering if I’d be better off with a digital nv since my budget is only 1000. The quality of nv seems much better around 1000 than the quality of thermals at that price. Best night scope for mid range around $1000??
With a 1K budget, one of the Sightmark Wraith NV scopes will fit your budget. Get a 2X HD or 2X 4k mini if you have an AR. YOU NEED a scanner too unless you just hunt over a feeder.
I have a ATN x-site 4k pro. I can see deer at 400 yards. (The supplies i.r. sucks though). It's GEN 1 technology, but, for 500.00 I am very happy. (It's nowhere near the quality as my Gen 3 goggles. But it's good enough.
I think since you are shooting a 5" pistol, trajectory would be your issue and not the scope. That being said, Pulsar has announced LRF software that works via Bluetooth that allows you to input ballistic info of your rifle/bullet combo, calculate the drop of the bullet and put the proper POI into your scope on the vertical crosshair when you range a target. You will need actual velocity and BC of your bullet. So, PULSAR LRF is my suggestion.

I don't have to review the InfiRay RS75 1280 know it is a fantastic scope. I have used and reviewed the Rico series and they are very good scopes. Bringing a 1280 thermal to the market is a landmark accomplishment. I had to include it as one of the best of 2022.
I really do not have an opinion about ATN. I can not say anything good or bad about their scopes. People that I trust about thermals say the other brands are better but have never used one.

I think the review is of minimal value because you haven't tested some of the Scopes and you're not giving the important details like how much does it weigh does it have a good battery situation by that I mean avoiding the 123 and most of all price. I like to hear someone justify the prices that are being charged. Is it mainly because they can get away with it?
Thanks for your comments. This video was not a review. I told everyone up front which scopes I was able to review and those videos are available on the channel. Price really has little to do with it because I was only talking about new scopes of 2022. Two of those scopes I mentioned are entry level scopes. One is the first 1280 ever made for hunters. I don't sell scopes, I don't set the prices and no one sponsors my videos. I knew when I made the video that RUclips would restrict ads because of subject. I only get paid to do written blog posts. Scopes are not necessities for hunters. They are just tools like Golf carts, ATVs, boats and trucks to pull them around. Most hunters can afford a thermal scope, most just choose to use the money for other things. I am just trying to help people know what is available and which scopes I like most.

Lowest price for thermal with LRF. You can get the Adder for $2500. But they hold their price with 5 year warranty so after couple year you can get 75-80% on resale.
Sorry you feel bad about the prices. What would you think would be fare for a scope thot will let you see in complete darkness for over a 1000 yards, record everything and use it for taking game or defend you and your family during an emergency. Is your house bigger than 1000 yards. The US law states, you can shoot anyone out side your house unless you are death threatening. And of course you have your thermal scope with you at all times. And the person breaks into your house you have scope with you. Stop blowing smoke up everyone’s ass and just say I have money to burn because I was born with a silver spoon. How many “average” people have an ATV, a Side by side, a boat, a snowmobile, a camper, or any other “hobby” item? Thermal scopes are honestly a cheap “hobby” to get in to compared to the other items I rambled off. It all depends how an individual chooses to spend their money.

I felt no need to dwell on the price. It is what it is. If you want the newest and greatest, you have to pay the price. The price will fall as soon as the other companies produce scopes above 640. Pulsar has a 1080 just around the corner. For myself, a 640 scope with ocular magnification 3.5-7 that maintains 640 at both powers would be better and it is coming. Five years ago I was hunting with a flashlight bolted on to my deer rifle. I got a side job for extra money for a night vision scope, then a thermal. Just a matter of priorities.
I dod not buy any of these, I just reviewed them. I would love to have an American made Nvision but at $8500 for a scope and $6000 for a Scanner they are above my budget.

First, I prefer stand alone thermals and would never use a clip-on. The only clip-on I would consider is an IRay RH25 for its size, image quality, and versatility. You need to run a scope with 1-4X or 1-6X with clip-on to get a full field of view and clear image. You can't just pop it in front of any scope or easily move it to another rifle. Also they cost as much as a stand alone thermal so I see no reason to buy one. Just my opinion.
I mean if I buy a thermal scope I will use it for hunting for food but the main reason why I would buy one is for when all hell breaks loose in America, because I'm going to need to defend my property & everything I own !! Because creeps , & thiefs always come out at night !!
